Last Tuesday,

Heather and I had a special outing with my mom. I wanted to show my mom a cool place here in Omaha, and Heather needed to use up a gift certificate I'd given her for her birthday, so we all traipsed off to That Pottery Place once again (it's where we hosted

Annie's shower back in September, too). And we proceeded to paint. Heather and I both had certain projects in mind, but Mom couldn't decide what she wanted to paint for a little while. I made a tic-tac-toe board for each of the boys, and then I decided to make a small snowman figurine while I was waiting for them to finish up their pieces. Heather ended up making a second piece as well.

And then I returned today to pick them all up! I took pictures, and I need to mail my mom her piece tomorrow. I don't have pictures of Heather's pieces, as I figure she might want to post them herself.

Hee, but seriously. I've missed you all so much, and I have stories and anecdotes and pictures and thank-yous and mail calls and all kinds of things to post about, but I fear they may go the way of the last five days while my parents were here - I'm too busy!

We received nine beautiful Christmas cards in the mail today, with ones from

poohbaby,

mrs_picasso and

gilliannegarret. Thanks so much, all of you! There are now 78 wonderful greetings on my 'Card Wall,' and I'm so excited!

My parents will be here sometime this afternoon or evening. I can't wait! I don't know where they are right now, and I don't want to call them, as their cell phone is now out of range and is costing them roaming charges. I'll just sit here and wait, though not so patiently!

What do I want to make for dinner?

My parents are coming for Christmas, and they should be arriving on Friday sometime. I want to become a "Nicole tornado" and clean the house, but the reality is that there's really not much to do in preparation for their arrival.

*twiddles thumbs*

I really should bake, though. I've got tons of cookie stuff, plus I bought ingredients for Puppy Chow and two Apple Blackberry Crumble Pies (I bet I know someone who would want the extra one!) But I'm just not too keen on actually getting everything out and making my kitchen all dirty.

Le sigh.

Three more Christmas cards came in the mail today, including one from

happysmiles01. I also received a nifty Christmas e-card from

scribeguy. Thanks, both of you!

We received a replacement package from HersheyGifts.com today. Er... I realize that I never wrote about the first package, eh? Well, my Aunt Edith surprised us with a huge box early last week from that company, and inside was a very large snowman cookie jar - only he was broken in about eight pieces! His head/top was intact, so I'd saved it, and I took pictures of the damage in case she needed them for a replacement to be sent out. She didn't, and they shipped us another one on Monday. It arrived today, though in more pieces than the first one had! But we have DOUBLE the chocolate candy that was inside the two snowmen (and it is a LOT!), and I have two perfectly cute snowman heads. I think I might use them as a pair of bookends - heehee.

My Draco icon cheers me up. It really does.
