I was picked this afternoon by the ever-lovely [livejournal.com profile] traceylalala. *squeeeee* It's like winning a friend lottery! :-)

Pick 10 people and give them the "you make my day award". If you're picked, you are charged with picking 10 of your own!

There's no rhyme or reason to my list, no ranking of order.

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it".

1. Whenever I am browning ground beef, I always add a couple splashes of Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor. Always.

2. I wipe down the phone (regular or cell) every time I use it. EVERY TIME. I also clean out all the nooks and crannies of the phones at least monthly with a needle.

3. I love sheets with the highest thread-count possible, but the higher the weave, the hotter I get while sleeping. So I sacrifice being cool for extra softness, and then I have to sleep naked - which I really don't like at all. Still, I won't give up my yummy sheets.

4. I chronically mis-hear lyrics to songs, much to the amusement of those around me. It's no matter to me - I enjoy belting out the wrong lyrics just as muchly. ("I found my free-UMP... on Blueberry Hill..." C'mon, it sounds a heckuva lot more like *my* lyrics, you know it does!)

5. I think plain, toasted hot dug buns are the best snack in the world. I first had this snack at my Great-Grandma Litchford's house when I was a tiny thing. The bread is much sweeter, and it's just so yum.

6. I rename every file as I import it into iTunes. I name them by chronological order of how they play in the CD. I can't stand it any other way. Sometimes I'll set iTunes to play all the '01s' in my list, followed by all the '02s,' and so on.

7. I bought myself a filing cabinet with my birthday money when I was 12. I organized all of my papers and artwork from kindergarten on in appropriate file folders. I love filing cabinets. ♥ ♥ ♥

Lastly, I tag the following folks: [livejournal.com profile] cupcaked, [livejournal.com profile] deza, [livejournal.com profile] spiffanda, [livejournal.com profile] lesliepear, [livejournal.com profile] traceylala, [livejournal.com profile] jespere, and [livejournal.com profile] lotsofjoy. :-)

Where are you in the movie?

The link works by you giving your birthdate, selecting a psychic death age, and then choosing from a select handful of films.

At 30, I would currently be in these parts of the movies of my life:

- Titanic: singing hymns in the ship's chapel
- The Princess Bride: explaining to Wesley that I do love forever, and I will never forget my true love
- The Wizard of Oz: pickin' apples with the Scarecrow
- Ghostbusters: watching the news as Sigourney Weaver
- Ferris Bueller's Day Off: I'd be listening to Cameron talk about how much his parents hate each other

Cool. :-)

- Describe me in one word... just one single word. Positive or negative.

- Leave your word in a comment before looking at what words others have used.

- Then copy and paste the meme to your journal to find out how people will describe you when limited to one word.

Open your Paint program. Close your eyes. Draw a cat!

Meme - cat drawings

On my first attempt, most of the body went out of the screen. My second try doesn't look too terrible, but I probably should've nixed the nose idea. And also labeling it "cat" underneath! On my third attempt, I tried to stripe the cat's tail. During the fourth one, I went for just a cat face... but Philip laughed while he was watching me, and then I laughed in response, and it totally jagged my mouse away from where I was working!

So then I made him try, too. )

If you do this meme, I wanna see the results!
navygreen: (Lazytown: mailbox)
I've done this before, but it's been a couple years, so...

As seen on the lovely [livejournal.com profile] 1grl_revolution's LJ (who I believe snagged it from [livejournal.com profile] the_vixxmeister):

The first seven (7) people to respond to this post will get something made by me. First 7 only.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
- What I create will be just for you.
- It'll be done this year (2009).
- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a mix CD. It may be a poem. I may draw or paint something. I might bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
- I reserve the right to make something extremely strange.
- I reserve the right to make something for your kid(s) instead of you.

The catch? As before, the catch is that you have to put this in your journal as well, if you expect me to do something for you!

PRESENTS FOR YOU:

#1 [livejournal.com profile] aiseiri_47
#2 [livejournal.com profile] angelrose
#3 [livejournal.com profile] 1grl_revolution
#4 [livejournal.com profile] niftybabe313
#5 [livejournal.com profile] bigbrain61
#6 [livejournal.com profile] scenicbeauty
#7 [livejournal.com profile] wendywoowho

And I'm waiting to hear if I made it onto [livejournal.com profile] spiffanda's list as well. If so, I will add the appropriate number of slots more onto my gift-making meme for more of my friends to have a chance. :-)

Comment here with a number between 1 and 4574, and I will tell you what song from my iTunes you are equated with. Also, I'll give you my favorite line from that song.

I took out all of my audiobook selections, reducing the total number by over 500 tracks, but I figured none of you would want those as your selection. Yes, they're Harry Potter, but as "lyrics," they could be deemed rather dry. I do still have a LOT of instrumental soundtracks in there, though - be warned. ;-)

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.

1. Don't Think I Don't - Darius Rucker (I can't think of a better guy to cross over to country *glee*)
2. Life in a Northern Town - Sugarland, Little Big Town & Jake Owen (and I've been trying to buy this tune for over three weeks now, and it's STILL not available anywhere)
3. Another Try - Josh Turner & Trisha Yearwood
4. Holler Back - The Lost Trailers
5. The Wheel of the World - Carrie Underwood
6. Home - Blake Shelton (though I do like Michael Bublé's version better)
7. That Song in My Head - Julianne Hough (Apolo's dancing partner FTW!)

But I'm not tagging anyone. Feel free to participate if you like.

I'd click-click-click until I was happy with the picture to represent. :-) A neat meme of your LJ interests in collage form:

I had to take this one for myself. As a "big girl," I no longer have the joy of making nifty bags and boxes to hold all my special valentines. An online mailbox will have to suffice, and I hope there are a couple messages waiting for me in a few days.

Well, it's been a few days now, and there are still a few stragglers that no one was able to correctly guess. They are the following:

12. We said our promises by candlelight. You held my hands, I was dressed in white - we were young. "How Can We See That Far?" - Amy Grant

13. Gotta find something to ease my mind, gotta get it off of you. You're tearing up my heartstrings one more time with what you're putting me through. "Gonna Get A Life" - Mark Chesnutt

20. Play us a song we can slow-dance on, we wanna hold each other. "Touch Me When We're Dancing" - Alabama

24. I saw your mama, and she said don't call you. Talked to your best friend, and she said no need to. "Love Is Stronger Than Pride" - Ricochet

25. I used to try to be a fix-it man. She had a problem, I had a plan. "All I Do Is Love Her" - James Bonamy

38. The new day dawns, and I am practicing my purpose once again. It is fresh and it is fruitful if I win, but if I lose -- oooooh, I don't know. "All Will Be Well" - The Gabe Dixon Band

44. Uh, oh. There you go again, talkin' cinematic. Yeah, you - you're charming, got everybody starstruck. "If We Were a Movie" - Hannah Montana

Thanks for playing along! :-)
navygreen: (Music)
I'm amused to no end that several of the remaining songs haven't been guessed. In my opinion, I thought they were the songs that would actually be EASIER. Ha! Who knew?

Go here to see an updated list of what has and hasn't been guessed. :-)
navygreen: (Music)
~ meme taken from [livejournal.com profile] welfy

Step 1: Put your iTunes on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 50 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Italicize the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is just plain wrong!

Here we go:

1. Please, gentle Eva, will you bless the little child? "Santa Evita" Evita Soundtrack, by [livejournal.com profile] sdaisyk

2. Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender weed. "The Rose" Bette Midler (or LeAnn Rimes), by [livejournal.com profile] soopageek

3. Share my life, take me for what I am. 'Cause I'll never change all my colors for you. "I Have Nothing" Whitney Houston, by [livejournal.com profile] cmmunchkin

4. We wish you a merry christmas. (Okay, so that's too easy. So guess who's singing it - go!) "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" The Brady Bunch, by [livejournal.com profile] wendywoowho

5. I had a one-night stand with my best friend's baby sister... to this day he still won't speak to me. "Startin' With Me" Jake Owen, by [livejournal.com profile] sdaisyk

6. Harry was bleeding. Clutching his right hand in his left, and swearing under his breath, he shouldered open his bedroom door. There was a Crunch! of breaking china. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" Jim Dale/J.K. Rowling, by [livejournal.com profile] cmmunchkin

7. Set me free, why don't you, baby? Get outta my life, why don't you, baby? "Keep Me Hangin' On" Diana Ross, by [livejournal.com profile] bigbrain61

8. I'm in a hurry to get things done. Oh, I rush and rush until life's no fun. "I'm In A Hurry" Alabama, by [livejournal.com profile] cmmunchkin

9. I've been up to my neck, working six days a week, wearing holes in the soles of the shoes on my feet. "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem" Kenny Chesney, by [livejournal.com profile] ilenenita

10. Dice are rolling, the knives are out. Would-be Presidents are all around. "New Argentina" Evita Soundtrack, by [livejournal.com profile] kitangel

The rest. )

It was hard to not keep listening to each song as the good tunes came up. If I had, it would've taken me a few hours to finish, though! And darn country songs - so many of them have the title as THE VERY FIRST WORDS. Of course, I had instrumental tracks come up as often as every third song, probably. I do love my orchestral soundtracks. *grin*
navygreen: (Apolo: bored)
My results, as crazy as they are:

73% Tom Tancredo
69% Mitt Romney
60% Fred Thompson
58% Hillary Clinton
58% John McCain
58% Barack Obama
57% Chris Dodd
56% John Edwards
54% Bill Richardson
49% Rudy Giuliani
47% Mike Huckabee
46% Joe Biden
46% Ron Paul
30% Dennis Kucinich
27% Mike Gravel

I've seen a Christmas Wish List meme go around every year that I've been here on LiveJournal. I've seen a few folks post their wishlists already, but I don't feel quite like really participating in the meme nor in the official community set up for that purpose. Rather, I feel more like a heartfelt list to "Santa" better serves me.

And so, my list. )
