I received a letter from my dear friend
Clayton a few days ago, and my heart was lifted to hear from him. He's in Iraq right now, and I have all the contents of a care package sitting in a box right next to my washer for him, but I wanted to make sure that the address I had was the correct one. Yesterday afternoon, I received a sweet message on my answering machine from his wife Bre, thanking me for remembering him right now (I'd emailed her to make sure everything in the package was good to mail). I'm going to make some fresh cookies tomorrow to stick in the box along with everything else, and then we'll get this off on Monday.
Such a special guy, he is. We have a unique friendship, and I really hope to meet him and his family one day.
I also spoke to another unique friend on the phone last night when
Brian called me. We've talked on the phone many, many times now, and each time is such fun. That's another dude I really hope to meet in person one day.
I love my LJ friends. And I love LJ correspondence. :-)
