And we're live. The new layout is LIVE.

Clicky! (You know you want to. Or, at least, *I* want you to!)

I'm so in love. Another of my passions has made it into my journal, and I'm so crazy about it. I've never worked with putting the backgrounds into my layout before - only worked with header images above the components. As it is, I'm not even running on Component now. In fact, here's what everything originally looked like (Flexible Squares).

Geek that I have become I noticed your AVG icon in your sys-tray. Jim has it on all of our computers too.

AVG is the best. I do hate that they don't offer a free version anymore, but I'm glad that I started using it on our computer way back when and that our account was "grandfathered" in.

And thank you so much. Blood, sweat & tears went into this sucker, and it's finally come together. Just a few minor tweaks left to go for it to be exactly like my vision.

As for the icon, well... it's practically the only matching-ish one I've got to put with the journal at the moment. ;-)

I have a free version on my pc. Came with it, else I would've installed Avast. One thing that annoys me about AVG is that you can't permanently disable the email scan. I have anti-virus scanning as part of my spamcop email account, so it's mostly pointless.

Our computer came with McAfee or Norton (can't remember which now). I hate them both, so they've been gone for years!

Wow. I have two thoughts on this new layout:

1. It reminds me of one of the best commercials EVER (have you seen it?) ..for Coke...from the mid 1970's....they're all sitting on a hill, holding candles, and singing melodically, "I'd like to buy the world a Coke, and teach it harmony...(that's the song I sing)...." Ahh. Good times.

2. Do you ever do layouts for people?

1. Thank you so much. That's the theme I was going for. You have no idea how much I hoped that my idea came across, so I'm glad to hear that it made someone else think of the same thing.

2. I've done many banners/graphics for folks, and I've helped many of them apply it to their journals as well. That being said, I've never created an entire layout from scratch for anyone. Technically, this one is doctored up from Flexible Squares, so... still not entirely from scratch.

Very cool layout, Nicole.... my *big* layout adventure was converting font styles and customizing the color into something very pink. Did you start with one of the templates available on LJ?

As for the Diet Dr Pepper Berries 'n Cream (or any flavor Dr P, really), I do still love them. They are my favorite types of soda. However, I've been an avid collector of Coca~Cola for as long as I can remember, and it was time for my hobby to hit the limelight. I honestly debated taking pictures of some of my antiques to use, but then I decided on something much more simple.

The layout started out as the default Flexible Squares. You can see a screenshot of it in the post above. It's come quite a long way, hasn't it? ;-D
