The sprinkler never stops here!

We went to a free 'Fire Hydrant Party' today in base housing for a little while, and the boys had fun. There are two of these events every week in base housing, and this is the first one that we've made it to. Firefighters hook up a neat apparatus to the fire hydrant, and the kids play in the massive sprays created from it. (We went to a Parents at Home picnic last year where the same thing was happening, and it was tons of fun then.)

This particular party was just a block from our house, so we walked over. I printed out a schedule of the remaining parties, and it's too bad there's not one planned using OUR hydrant. ;-)

For now, though, we're headed back to the pool. And tomorrow, we'll be out at the lake with our friends. The water adventures just never stop, it seems!

Um, I was just seeing on the news that something like 13 more counties had been added to the official "draught list" already this year. However, I guess we're doing alright here in our part of Nebraska, as we're planning on hitting another one this weekend.

At my elementary school they had a fun sprinkler hooked up to the fire hydrant sometimes during the summer. but it was nothing elaborate like that one. Looks neat!
