Let's have some Flist love for a moment, shall we? Do you know what I love so much about you, my darling dearie Flist? You update with substance. You update with meaning. You update with your lives. Your journals don't survive and subsist only on quizzes or gakkies or crappy poetry. You have depth, and you allow me into your depth. Thank you for being a source of intelligence and escape for me. :-)
This just in: today's recap! Followed by a no-wait forecast, so stay tuned!
So I worked at the store today for Carmelle. It's always a bit weird to work on a Friday. The customers I see are not my 'normal' ones, and I feel like I'm constantly guessing what they're going to do, whereas I feel like I really *know* my Saturday 'usual' ones. Today was no exception to this.
Just as I arrived this morning, a poor little birdie smashed into the windows that make up our front wall. He hit hard, and he whump!ed onto the ground. A minute or so later, Cyndy and I could see blood beginning to come out of his beak area, and he looked to be hyperventilating because he was trying so hard to breathe. It was so sad watching him, not knowing what to do to help. About ten minutes later, as Cyndy was leaving for the bank runs, I checked on him again, and the birdie was standing up. I was happy for him. I noticed that his head would slowly droop forward, and then he would shake himself awake quickly, but he was standing, and I thought that was a good sign.
I guess not. When Cyndy returned about 10 minutes later, she walked over and checked him out. He was flat on the ground and not moving a mite. Poor birdie. He tried. :-(
Stupid, clean windows. Tomorrow, I'm covering them with muck - no more senseless birdie deaths while I'm at work.
At the end of this afternoon/evening, when Cyndy and I were balancing the store for the end of business, we found ourselves $100 off. I really hope we find it tomorrow when we go back over everything with a fine-toothed comb, because over/short reports are a PAIN - for everyone involved.
AnnieMcFranniePants went to dinner with us tonight, and she's staying here tonight for a sleepover! She's in the shower right now, and I'm jumping in as well in a bit (... in a SEPARATE shower, you perverts!). We're going to chit-chat and gossip and drink tea and listen to music on repeat and who knows what else! After tonight, I can officially say that I'll have had sleepovers with each of 'the socks' - wheee!
Hey, I *did* say 'no-wait weather forecast,' didn't I? ;-D
