I am wearing a pair of pants from my senior year in high school right now.

And. They. Fit. Just Fine.

I've just eaten a bowl of oatmeal with raisins. Packed to take to work with me today, I have the following:

- a banana
- a single-serving cup of cottage cheese
- red pepper strips and dip

You'd think I was working for more than just four hours, wouldn't you? Truthfully, I snack all day long now, and it seems to be working the best for weight loss.

Yesterday, I was working the front counter while Chris handled the drive-through (my usual station). At one point, I heard Chris say my name, and I glanced over to see the woman outside the window waving at me. I didn't recognize her, but I walked over to see what she needed. She began gushing, "I was watching you get soup ready while I waited for my order, and you look so great! You must have lost some weight - how much?!" I grinned and told her I'd lost 37 pounds so far, and she went on, "That's FANTASTIC! You can definitely tell. Congratulations!"

Later on, I asked Chris if the woman had said she knew me from anywhere else (I was racking my brain trying to come up with her identity). He said she had only told him she was a regular customer at Runza, but that she wanted to tell me she'd noticed I'd lost weight.

How very sweet. It made my entire day. :-)

Goal!

I made my first goal this morning! Well, the first goal that I actually voiced out loud to folks several weeks ago. It was SPOT.ON. and I was so ecstatic! Philip was standing right next to me, and I punched him in the chest as I yelled, "Yes!" Then I handed him my glasses so he could see the numbers as well (yes, we have the same prescription, and yes, we were both fresh out of bed and basically "blind").

Altogether? 36.0 pounds gone! I've also now moved from a size 22 to a size 16. And I've gone from a 42C in bra size to a 36C - yippee! That's a much easier to find size, and it comes in so many more (pretty!) choices!

Goal weight by "last day in November"?

CHECK, baby. CHECK.

I'm down 33.0 pounds now. This weight loss has all occurred in the last eight weeks. In the beginning, the pounds dropped off very quickly. Over the last month or so, however, the loss has averaged right around two pounds per week.

I've completely changed my eating habits in this time, and I hope that I can stick to this new regime. I'd really like to keep losing. I've begun setting "mini-goals" for myself, and I have a few numbers in mind for certain dates of the next year. It'll be exciting if the weight loss keeps up. :-)

It seems that depression is one helluva weight loss plan. As of today, I'm now down 21.5 pounds. This weight loss has all occurred in the last five weeks.

I wore my 'Flake' shirt (as seen in the icon above) yesterday, and it was literally too big on me. I've had that shirt for almost two years now, and it was tight enough to show "backfat" last year. Now? It just hangs.

I'm feeling mighty good tonight, as I've just put on a pair of brand-new jeans in the next size down (my other pair of jeans - which I just bought seven weeks ago - are now so loose that they literally slip off of me as I walk. I can shimmy out of them with the buckle and zipper still done, even). And these jeans look GOOD tonight. Not only that, but I'm wearing a brand-new sweater that I purchased for myself last weekend, and the sweater is down a size, too.

I feel pretty tonight. That's an improvement in itself.

Maybe this post should be titled, "On the minus side...", eh?
