I woke up this morning, dropped A.J. off at school, came back home, and then I gave Jack his clothes to get dressed while I was in the shower. When I got out, I finished getting ready, and then I dropped Jack off at preschool with all his Valentines in tow for his party later on. I raced back home, vacuumed a bit and then started some laundry while waiting for Veronica to arrive.
She did, and we had a nice visit. I learned a few new things, and I bought myself a new mascara and some purple eyeliner - a first for me (
rubyawake, aren't you just so proud?). We packed it up, she left, and then Philip and I set off for the preschool to celebrate in Jack's classroom Valentine party with him. He beaded a bracelet in the crafts station (with Daddy's help), smeared chocolate frosting and sprinkles on a heart-shaped Rice Krispie™ treat and then played Valentine bingo using conversation hearts for markers. It was a nice party, and he had fun.
We dropped Daddy off at Runza then, and Jack and I had a special Valentine lunch of his choice: Chinese food. He watched the fish for in the restaurant's pond (the biggest attraction for him!) for minutes on end while I paid the tab. We came home, grabbed a couple of things I needed to return/replace at Wal*Mart, did that, went to the bank and then picked up Philip at work. Jack then opened up a Valentine card from Grammy and Papa George (with a spiffy $5 bill inside), and then he settled on the floor with me to open and read all of his Valentines from his class party. He received a lot of candy, and a few other folks had made up treat sacks like ours. Though I wrote 'Teacher' in black marker on three bags, Jack still ended up bringing home one of them for himself - silly kid!
Philip picked up A.J. from school, and then the three boys got cozy on the couch for a planned 'date' of X-Box. We have four controllers now (we had only two before), so now they can all play together if the game allows it. I watched some Ellen while folding the laundry, followed by some more Olympics. I napped a tiny bit during the break between Olympic coverage, too.
I really sorted through all of my new Creative Memories consultant kit tonight, and I talked to my upline about my qualifying first order. I'm excited to place that order, and I'm ready to get going in my business (though I still plan to keep it small-scale). We had soup for dinner, and then it was time for more Olympics.
Like Jack, A.J. received a Valentine card from Grammy and Papa George today, as well a box from my Aunt Edith. She'd knitted him a gorgeous sweater in the most brilliant yellow. It's really just amazing, and it fits perfectly. He modeled for just a bit, but the sun was too bright for him to see me to smile. Such a nice gift!
A.J.'s classroom Valentine party is tomorrow afternoon. Before then, Jack and I will be meeting up with
Janiece and her son David at the zoo at 10:30am for some fun and a picnic lunch. I've made up gift bags for the boys for Valentine's Day, and I'll present them with the goodies when they wake up, I think. :-)
