Because I know you are all so very worried about my sugar consumption... (you weren't? YOU SHOULD BE!)

I wanted to inform you that I have already devoured my first piece of baklava for the season. In fact, I had three pieces over a week, and even then, it was about ten days ago.

Yummy.
Flaky.
Sticky.
Buttery.
Goodness.

Screw "baklava." No, from now on, I'll gonna call it "YFSBG," because it'll help me to remember how truly wonderful and delicious the stuff really is. ;-)

Back when I was heavily craving all things baklava, my friend prosodic Karyn was able to find a neat recipe for me: Sugary Pastry Crisps. I have renamed it to "Simple Baklava," and I thought I'd share it here for any others who want the taste, without all the work.

This weekend is the Omaha 'Big Fat Greek Festival.' As such, I've got an intense craving for some baklava. Baklava! Sadly, I'm sure there's no way I'll be getting some, as Philip is working the ninth straight day in a row, and we won't have a chance to get to it. Even if we could, baklava is usually really expensive.

*sigh*

But doesn't baklava sound like the world's best breakfast?
