i've been connecting with more IRL old friends over there. i still like here best for blogging purposes - i LOVE the depth of levels of security here.
myspace is good for some things, but blogging isn't one of them.
facebook so far seems to be the "safe place" for my less internet savvy friends from years past.

Ugh. I can't stand MySpace, and I can't bring myself to want to use Facebook. It's too "main-stream". Same with Bebo and Blogspot. There are just too darn many and everyone is using all of them except no one in my RL world has found their way to LJ on their own, which is why I hideout here. :D

Really? I find it soooo much easier than MySpace. Not that MS is really that hard, but just that FB seems so much more manageable. And has much cooler things on the site. :-)

I'm hardly on myspace anymore. I'm noticing that it's trying to be more like facebook, but failing. IMO facebook will absorb myspace in the near future.

It's a much faster way to communicate with updates, etc. Easier to post photos (such as my album for my dad) and have people see them. And a lot of my friends and I are no longer emailing...we're messaging on facebook.

I've been there for a few years.... since college faculty became eligible to join and my students asked me to join. It's interesting that the first generation of FB'ers aren't nearly as happy as they were when it was truly a social networking tool for college students and college students only. In the old days, one had to have a valid email address with the .edu extension in order to join. Now it's open to everyone. I don't have a preference either way, but it's interesting to me from a cultural standpoint.
