Duets: Well, the movie was nothing like I thought it would be. Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow do sing a duet, but it's not really until the end of the movie, and their lives only make up 1/3 of what's going on. It was an okay movie, following 6 people as they make their way to Omaha, Nebraska for a karaoke contest. (I must admit, I did download the song that Gwynnie and Huey sing - *blushes*)

The Lizzie McGuire Movie: Ahhh, to be in junior high again! Seriously, for those of you who have seen the show, was your school ANYTHING like this? I like the fluff of the show on the Disney channel (which seems to be CONSTANTLY on in my house, courtesy of A.J.), and the movie was just like the show. Funny and unrealistic, but good if you already like the show.

Happy Accidents: Hmm. My friend [livejournal.com profile] amy_jes recommended this flick to me, and I added it to my 'Rental Queue' without even looking to see what it was about. Vincent D'Onofrio and Marisa Tomei in a present-day/time-travel sort of situation. I would love to meet the writer of the film, since the backstory plot was so complicated. I like both of the actors in everything I've seen, and this movie was no exception. I don't think I could categorize this one. Not really romance, or comedy, or drama - just kinda in between all of those.

Simon Birch: Good movie. I meant to see this back in '99 when it came out. The story of a friendship between two boys, both outcasts. It was so sweet, and well-casted. Ashley Judd, Oliver Platt, Jim Carrey and Joseph Mazzello (the boy in Jurassic Park). In my mind, I had remembered Charlize Theron playing the mother, not Ashley Judd. Really I can't say more about the movie without telling you the story, and I can't do it justice. So... just see the movie. :-)

Indecent Proposal: I was so impressed with Woody Harrelson's acting! Wow. This is a movie that I wouldn't have been allowed to see when it actually came out, and also something that I wouldn't have completely understood the depth of before I was married/in a serious relationship. Good people - Demi Moore, Robert Redford and Woody Harrelson. Not all sex, like I'd always thought. A good drama, but not in a suspenseful kind of way. 4/5 stars.
