Pastor David borrowed our copy of Pearl Harbor this afternoon, wanting to use it in this weekend's sermon.

That is my favorite movie of all time, and I'm giddy to see which part he's going to use, and how he'll tie it to his message.

I'm glad we were able to help. I've wished to replace our VHS copy with the two-disc DVD version, but we've not done it yet. Still, he was very happy we had it at all, reporting that Blockbuster was all out, and he'd not had luck finding it from anyone else.

Love that movie. Love that soundtrack. All around, just love. :-D

Semi-related question: will Philip watch war movies? Bob won't. The last time I asked was whe "Saving Private Ryan" came out. He let me know that if I wanted to see any war movie, I was free to do so, but he would not go with me. He makes exceptions for wars that took place over 500 years ago, but otherwise he refuses. I'm not sure if this is a common reaction for war veterans or not.

Yes, he will. He points out all the things that are militarily wrong, of course, but he watches them. We've seen so many during his 9+ year career that I couldn't begin to rename all the ones we've seen, in fact.

I liked that movie I think that was one of the first movies we bought on DVD after we got married. I remember crying soo much because i was pregnant and he was leaving soon again.

I still cry every time when Danny dies, and I've seen the movie hundreds of times. Very literally, there was a time when I watched that movie every single night for about a year. I would put it on each night for scrapbooking (I've always found it easier to scrapbook to a movie that I've already seen and know well - less distracting, plus longer movies work the best because they keep me from getting up so often to choose a new movie, too).

What a great movie. I haven't seen it in ages... I definitely need to buy it.

The pastor gave it back to us tonight. I missed it for those 24 hours! ;-)
