When I wear make-up, my eye is goopy at night. No matter how well I take off the make-up, it just doesn't seem to be any better.

*sigh*

Does this happen even when you use entirely new make-up?

Actually, this was *brand-new* eye shadow and liner. I just got them from my consultant only two weeks ago, and this was only the second time I'd used them. Maybe I should be replacing my mascara, though?

Yes! Mascarra is far more likely to be the culprit than liner and shadow, because it's semi-liquid. And one thing I recently learned - don't pump the wand up & down before taking it out of the tube. This can introduce air into the mascarra and increase the chances of goop-causing nasties growing in there.

Ugh, I do that *every* time. Thanks for telling me, though.

Ooooh, thanks for the tip! I checked it out, and I'm intrigued. Honestly, if it wasn't for the "goopy eye" syndrome, I'd wear make-up much more often. I'd never heard of cake mascara before, but it definitely looks like a better idea!

Clinique makes a really good eye makeup remover that takes off EVERYTHING. I tried it after getting sick of the racoon eyes I'd get after wearing mascara/eyeliner. I think they sell it at the BX?

Well, it's not getting it off that is the real problem. I remove it with no problem (I actually love my MK eye make-up remover), but it's just the wearing of it to begin with that irritates my eyes, and then hours later, it's AWFUL. It's still red and goopy today, and that's par for the course. It usually lasts two days or so each time I'm brave enough to wear make-up again.

If it's red, maybe you're allergic to one of the ingredients?? Maybe try a different brand of makeup??

I wouldn't doubt it. I'm allergic to Vitamin E, and that's in nearly everything for skin- and hair-care. *sigh*

that's happened to me too. though i should probably buy new makeup as mine is currently over 2 years old (although it's natural i'm sure that's still classified as OLD).

Mine's actually pretty new. Everything but the mascara, of course. *sigh*
