Tread cleanly.

I just spent twenty minutes cleaning out the tread on the bottom of both my work shoes and my winter clogs. Both have thick tread (to keep me from slipping), and that same thick tread picks up all kinds of ice melt, small rocks and dirt. In addition, my work shoes had bits of lettuce, french fry, and other assorted probably-food items stuck in the tread.
This is all from only six weeks of wear, as Philip bought me both of these pairs of shoes in early December. I suppose this build-up wouldn't yet be enough to bug many people, but bugging me it was. I used water, a tub scrubber and a Pampered Chef® nylon scraper to get out the little pieces in the treads. Now they both look brand-new and beautiful again, and they're currently drying on a little rug in the front hall.
My hands smell like water and leather, but I'm so happy it's silly! :-)
