We're heading to CoCo Key Water Resort today for a day of fun! [livejournal.com profile] squeak_a_chu bought the boys tickets for Christmas, and she and her family are coming as well. We'd set aside this day several weeks back to make sure that Philip would be able to attend, too (work schedules and whatnot). Though I'm not crazy about wearing my swimsuit again, I am VERY excited to see the boys enjoy and experience this new, fun place! Hopefully Jack will be just now tall enough that he can go on all the waterslides - he's got the swimming skills for 'em.

(I keep meaning to post on that subject, but then I forget. The boys have both been in constant swim lessons since last April. A.J. is currently in Level 4, and Jack is in Level 3. Both are doing fabulously - quite the little "fish" we have!)

As for taking pics, I'm torn, torn, torn. The wishful side of me so badly wants to take my new cam with me - it's faster, better and - long lens! However, the practical side of me screams, "A water park?! Are you insane?!" So, me? Completely undecided. *sigh*

That place looks cool - we're always looking for something fun to do in Omaha - we'll have to do that next time!

It was SO. MUCH. FUN! Definitely, you guys need to do this next time you're in town. We could even meet up!

That is so fun! You'll have a great time.

As for the camera, it depends on how much water time you plan to have. If you're going to be in the water a lot, I wouldn't take it. I didn't take mine when we went to a water park. Unless you trust the lockers - could you rent a locker and put your camera bag in there when you're finished snapping?

And, it's funny that you mention this today. I had a dream last night that I had somehow gotten water in my camera - like, I'd tilt it forward and water would stream out. And then, my lens wouldn't zoom because it had rusted. Weird coincidence!

I was thinking the same thing about the lockers - I would be worried about someone nabbing the camera more than anything else.

Took mine to the beach last summer and got some fantastic shots! *squee* My biggest worry was accidentally getting sand in the body/lens while changing lens, so I packed a small hand towel and kept it very clean/dry.

Have fun, Nicole -- oh, and Target has swimsuits out already and they're on sale (at least in Texas)

ps - cute icon!

Guess what?! I did not feel fat in my swimsuit! I didn't feel skinny either, per se, but I felt just perfectly comfortable. Of course, this is the same suit that I bought this past summer, and when I wore it then, I weighed about 37 pounds more.

Oh my goodness! 37lbs lighter? I'd guess your swimsuit was falling off of you once it got wet!

Yay for not feeling fat in a swimsuit! That rocks!!!! I still say you're in need of a new suit - you deserve it, girl! *high five*

What'd you decide about the camera?

I took it, but then I ended up being too chicken to pull it out of the bag in the waterpark. I just used my old camera instead.

Yeah, I was in the water basically the entire time. And there was really hardly anywhere that you could get decent pictures where you were not also in the water or at risk for the water's spray.

So I took it, but I never pulled it out. Instead, I just used my old cam.

You're very brave even considering taking your new camera. lol. I couldn't do it. I'd have to buy one of those waterproof disposables because I'd be heartbroken if anything happened! lol. Have fun!

Well, I took it, but then I never pulled it out of the camera bag. I used my old one instead - the pics will be good enough, I guess.

For some reason, I feel drawn to replying to your post with this icon.

Wait 'til you see the pictures of 'Parrot's Perch' from this afternoon - then your icon is even *more* appropriate. ;-)

You should take the camera.

On... "both"... counts.

I took it... but then I didn't use it. I only was brave enough to pull the other cam out for shooting. There really was just too much water everywhere.

Oooh, sounds like so much fun!! I hope the boys enjoyed the waterpark! Sounds like they're quite the accomplished swimmers. :)

that looks neat my mom is always wanting to do something special when we come. She keeps wanting to go here in Kansas City its a hotel with the water park also. Further away, but it has a great outdoor shopping mall within walking distance.

Yeah, this is Great Wolf on a slightly smaller scale. But it's so nice because it's right here in our town, it's cheaper, and there's no 2-hour drive to get there. Also, we don't have to stay in the hotel, so there's no expense there. :-)
