Remember that we moved in November? November 3rd, to be exact. And then I sorta slipped out of LiveJournal for a while, what with all the unpacking, painting and organizing. But I did take pictures! Err... even if they didn't get posted in a "timely fashion."

I intended to edit/process some of the pictures, but I realize now that if I actually take the time to do that, I'll never get through them. So I'm just posting them all as is - take it or leave it. And I'll put small captions under the photos, but there won't be a lot of actual story to go along with them.

And - obviously - this will be in a few parts. *grin*

Boys watch movies in our new living room.

Philip takes down the vertical blinds for painting.

I mask off the trim for painting.

Philip "tests" out the tree for safe climbing.

Philip in the tree.

Jack tries out the other tree.

The swingset in pieces in the new backyard.

Jack in the tree.

A.J. finds a great stick to use as a "pretend lightsaber."

Neighborhood boys come over.

Philip sits in the primed living room.
(It was SO pink!)

The first coat of red goes on.

Too tired to stay up any longer.

Tuck is still pretty nervous about this whole "new house" business.

And because I now have them, here are the dimensions in our new house:

Garage: 11'-10" x 27'-5"
Patio: 12' x 12'
Family Room: 12' x 12'-2"
Living Room: 12'- x 14'
Dining Room: 9'-1" x 11'-1"
Kitchen: 8'-1" x 9'-7"
Utility Room: 5' x 7'-9"
Office: 9'-1" x 10'-1"
A.J.'s Room: 9'-1" x 11'-3"
Jack's Room: 10'-1" x 14'
Master Bedroom: 11'-3" x 14'

We have three storage closets in our entry, and there aren't dimensions listed for these (at least, not on the floorplan I have), so I'm unsure of their sizes. There are two linen closets in the hallway, as well as two full baths (one is off the side of our master bedroom). And Philip and I each have our own closet in the master bedroom as well. In addition to the patio, there's a shed, as well as a 'service area' - with dimensions of 8'-1" x 4'-9".

In other words, we have a LOT more space than we did. :-D

Oooh, I do like that red! I've never been a person that loves red, but everytime I see red walls I think they look so pretty!

It sounds like you have quite a bit of space. A living room, family room, and a separate office? Awesome!

Don't forget the dining room! I was most excited about that, especially since our last house had the dining area in the living room. I wanted my table as far away from our TV as possible!

We had red walls in the last house too, but in this house, I chose to only paint on two walls instead (leaving the end, shorter walls the taupe color). I really like it. A.J.'s room will eventually be yellow, and Jack's picked orange for his room (a nice shade of pumpkin - nothing too garish!).

I did forget the dining room! Our table is in the kitchen and is in a direct line with our tv. I understand wanting the table far away from the tv. Sometimes, I have to just turn it off.

I always wanted to try using some designs with paint. But, not in my house first, of course. ;D I did my husband's office: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jchammonds/201428908/in/set-72157594216559650/

And then an office next door to him: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jchammonds/202017335/

Unfortunately, I didn't get to choose the colors. But, I discovered it's fun to play with paint. So much better than wallpaper!

Those are so neat! So much cooler than your "average" office paint job, that's for sure!

Um, yes. There's quite a bit of money invested in that thing - it's going wherever we go!

I love when other people paint their walls red. I'm not sure I could be brave enough to do it myself but I love seeing it!

I love my red walls. It had taken me all of my life to get my red walls, and we finally painted in the last house. I hated to leave that old house if they weren't going to let me paint a new house with my beautiful red again. I love it!
