Grrrs and/or Arghs.

Generally speaking, I'm quite frustrated at the moment, as nothing is going - generally - my way.
And yes. I did just use the word 'generally' twice in the same sentence. So sue me.
(Speaking facetiously now, of course.)
Grrrr.
In my new house inside my new kitchen and in the midst of my new microwave, my over-the-stove lightbulb burnt out on Monday. This has caused me anguish, as that particular light is soft and, well, light, and it's easy on my eyes. It's my #1 light in the kitchen, and I use it copiously.
So I thought I'd replace it. I unscrewed the cover and pulled out the bulb to find a bizarre substance at the base of the burnt-out bulb, and when I touched it, the strange crystalline stuff shattered and showered in glassy-looking bits all over my freshly cleaned stove. I was concerned, you see, so I put a call in to housing maintenance.
And they called me back the next morning. I explained my concerns, and I learned that since the brand-new microwave was still under warranty, I needed to call A&E Factory Services for any/all repair and/or replacement questions.
So I did. And I set an appointment for this morning. The service guy was friendly when he arrived ten minutes before I needed to be at work, and he checked everything out. He said it was all normal for a new appliance, and that the weird white stuff was probably extra caulking that had been heated when the appliance first went into use. He didn't have bulbs on him, and I wasn't worried - surely I could take the old bulb to store and buy a replacement, right?
Wrong-o.
I've been to Target, Menards and Wal*Mart, and no one carries a bulb like this. I'm frustrated even more now, as I've already waited days to have my favorite light in the kitchen back, and I still can't get'r done.
*sigh*
And the Argh? I'm ridiculously horny, and there isn't another ugly around here with which to bump.
Guess I'll go eat worms. Happy Friday, all.
