Holiday lights and decorations.

Because a few of you asked (*ahem*
beanpop*
adiasplat*ahem*), here are some pictures of our holiday decorations and lights this year:
(I will apologize now: these pictures are not fantastic. I used no flash, and I didn't stop for a re-take if the picture was blurry or badly-colored. I didn't edit these pictures, either. It's not like I'm going to print these - they're just for giving you an idea of what our decorations look like.)
We only have three Christmas trees this year, as our outside one (6-1/2 feet tall) sadly bit the dust last year during many of our violent windstorms. These are our trees:

Our 1-footer atop the microwave.
(It's adorned in lights, a beaded ribbon and a dozen teeny, tiny red bows. I also added a 5-ornament set of miniature Harry Potter figures to this tree this year - can you see Hedwig?)

Our 3-footer, located in the entry way.
(This tree is the boys' tree, and we've had it since 2000. We collected the Disney ornaments in the mail for a couple of years, and this is where they are displayed.)

Our 7-1/2 foot tree, in the living room.
(This tree is filled with ornament hand-me-downs from our parents, our own childhood ornaments, and all of the other hodge-podge ornaments that we've received as gifts over the years. Each ornament holds a memory, and I wouldn't have it any other way. There are 1150 stationary lights on this tree, plus 300 twinkling ones [which do make it hard to capture in a photo, by the way]. Underneath the tree is our collection of about 20 Christmas bears - again, each one has a story or has been made for one of us by a family member.)

Baby naps on the loveseat under the glow of the hologram snowflakes and outdoor reindeer lights.
(On the right arm of the loveseat, you can see all four of our Santa hats, which we don at spontaneous moments throughout the day.)

Snowman stuff atop a bookcase.
(Snowman statuary, nesting boxes, tealight candle holders, painted wood decorations and a shelf-sitter.)

More snowman stuff and candle holders on the entertainment center.

Snowman hanging and wooden stocking.
(Philip's mom made both of these gifts as for me. The snowman hanging was one of my presents in 2003, and the wooden stocking was a thank-you gift for playing my flute in church back before Philip and I were really even dating!)

Cloth Advent calendar with ornaments.
(Made by my Aunt Edith, who mailed me hers after my mentioning not being able to find one like I'd had when I was growing up - the boys love it!)

Poinsettia on the table.
(A must-have for the holiday season.)

Our holiday wreath on the front door.
(We've had this since 2001.)

Cabinet magnets.
(I love these! We've had them for about 5 years now, and I wish I could get more!)

Soap dispenser, Cleghorn candy house and tealight holder.

Beginning of this year's 'Card Wall.'

More snowman stuff and Longaberger Christmas baskets on the toy box.

Close-up of Christmas framed photos.
(A.J. was almost 15 months old in the snowman framed picture, and Jack was 3 months old in the red framed picture - I love both of these pics!)

Our stockings, including the kitties' hanging from the shelf.
(Finally, we have four stockings that all match. We have about 15 stockings in our holiday decorations, and we pick and use a different one each year, but the boys never really had one to call their "own" until this year, and I just bought these last week. I love them!)
And now, for the outside lights:

The snow plows are trying to kill my lights!

House from the street.
(It's red-and-white alternating lights on the stakes lining the street and driveway, white lights in both of the bushes, holly light decorations on two windows, a candy cane light decoration on the middle window and the lighted train on the picnic table off to the side/back yard. Not in this picture, there is also one more candy cane light decoration in our back bedroom window, plus the two reindeer in the living room window [which is seen from the back yard].)

Train decoration.
(Quite possibly Jack's favorite decoration EVER.)
And that's it! *wipes brow* :-D
