We had our share of conversations like that while Devon was in Iraq, including this jem.

*sigh*

That one was awful, too. It breaks your heart what little kids can come up with. :-(

I'm sorry, Chris. I let the depressing stuff out, you know, but I certainly don't mean to pull the rest of you down as well. :-(

Yes, it does. And poor A.J. too. Philip had told the boys he'd be back "sometime after his birthday." A.J. took that very literally - no matter how many times I tried to tell him differently - and here he counted down the days until 9/19 (Philip's birthday was the 18th). Boy, he was so bummed and so sad when Dad didn't come home on the 19th. :-(

Awww. Bless his heart. Reading this broke my heart, so I can only imagine what it did to yours. I pray that he'll have his Daddy at home soon.

I keep thinking these things will eventually just roll off, you know? They never do, though. :-/
