HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATHERINE!
I hope you're having a fantastic birthday,
Catherine! I'm still thinking about your birthday request - still thinking. ;-)
It is so hot today. It got up to 94*, and I didn't even want to *think* about going outside. Still, we'll be heading out there in a bit, if for no other reason than I think the boys would probably not
survive if we stayed inside all day long. (At least, they seem to think so - heehee.)
Janiece is coming over later to scrapbook. We don't get to see each other nearly enough now that the boys aren't in preschool over the summer. I also called Stephanie, Chris and Ann to see if I could get a little moms' group/scrapbook thing going on, but as I had to leave messages at each of their houses, I'm not that optimistic that they'll all make it. However, Janiece and I are pretty good at being rowdy on our own. ;-)
I slept with a teddy bear last night. I'm not sure if I've ever slept with a teddy bear before. Growing up, I had a baby blanket (which I affectionately named 'Yellow Blanket' - none of those froo-froo names for me), and I had that on my bed each night until shortly after
Philip and I were married. It's been packed away for years now. In middle school and high school, I had teddy bears ON my bed - pressed to the corners or foot of my bed - but I never actually slept with any of them. But last night, while I was putting away some of the boys' stuffed animals, I found the new teddy bear that I 'won' at the recent Spring Spa Spouse night, and he was so fluffy and adorable that I decided I'd take him to bed with me.
I woke up with the snuggly bear still cuddled tightly under my chin - such a good bear. :-)

Me and my teddy bear.

Date: 2005-06-07 10:54 pm (UTC)I usually sleep snuggling with living cats now, but I had a "Janey Blanket" when I was little-- it had cats all over it that I thought looked like our cat "Jane Fonda." (my middle name is Jane-- I was named after the cat.)
I "donated" my Janey Blanket after my sister found a hurt bunny, and he later died. Most of it was buried, but I still have a scrap of it.

Date: 2005-06-07 11:52 pm (UTC)I actually have a few *coughhundredcough* in my room. When I'm... really... REALLY... really depressed, I'll dig one out. Usually it's the Vermont Teddy Bear I got in Vermont. Because, well, I'm getting my money's worth. :-)
Look at it this way, he's a capable stand-in for Philip, just make sure he (the bear) understands that he goes back to the bedpost corner when Philip gets home. :-)

Date: 2005-06-08 05:21 am (UTC)Really? I've never met anyone else with such a boring 'name' for their blanket. My older sister's blanket was called 'Lady,' and my younger sister named hers 'Nightie.'

Date: 2005-06-08 06:32 pm (UTC)The bear that Lyn 'won' had the most adorable little black eyes. In fact, Heather tried to get me to pick him first, but I just loved this one. He kinda reminds me of Bear from 'Bear in the Big Blue House.' :-D
