HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATHERINE!

I hope you're having a fantastic birthday, mostcurious Catherine! I'm still thinking about your birthday request - still thinking. ;-)

It is so hot today. It got up to 94*, and I didn't even want to *think* about going outside. Still, we'll be heading out there in a bit, if for no other reason than I think the boys would probably not survive if we stayed inside all day long. (At least, they seem to think so - heehee.)

niecer1 Janiece is coming over later to scrapbook. We don't get to see each other nearly enough now that the boys aren't in preschool over the summer. I also called Stephanie, Chris and Ann to see if I could get a little moms' group/scrapbook thing going on, but as I had to leave messages at each of their houses, I'm not that optimistic that they'll all make it. However, Janiece and I are pretty good at being rowdy on our own. ;-)

I slept with a teddy bear last night. I'm not sure if I've ever slept with a teddy bear before. Growing up, I had a baby blanket (which I affectionately named 'Yellow Blanket' - none of those froo-froo names for me), and I had that on my bed each night until shortly after af_cop Philip and I were married. It's been packed away for years now. In middle school and high school, I had teddy bears ON my bed - pressed to the corners or foot of my bed - but I never actually slept with any of them. But last night, while I was putting away some of the boys' stuffed animals, I found the new teddy bear that I 'won' at the recent Spring Spa Spouse night, and he was so fluffy and adorable that I decided I'd take him to bed with me.

I woke up with the snuggly bear still cuddled tightly under my chin - such a good bear. :-)

Me and my teddy bear.

Love the bear! His feet are so cute!
I usually sleep snuggling with living cats now, but I had a "Janey Blanket" when I was little-- it had cats all over it that I thought looked like our cat "Jane Fonda." (my middle name is Jane-- I was named after the cat.)
I "donated" my Janey Blanket after my sister found a hurt bunny, and he later died. Most of it was buried, but I still have a scrap of it.

hee. Well, we probably TOLD her she was! :) Older siblings torturing their younger sister. But really, I think I inherited my inability to come up with good names from my mom.

He's adorkable!

I actually have a few *coughhundredcough* in my room. When I'm... really... REALLY... really depressed, I'll dig one out. Usually it's the Vermont Teddy Bear I got in Vermont. Because, well, I'm getting my money's worth. :-)

Look at it this way, he's a capable stand-in for Philip, just make sure he (the bear) understands that he goes back to the bedpost corner when Philip gets home. :-)

You never cease to surprise me. I'd have never pegged you as a teddy collector, but it only makes you more adorable now that I know you are. :-)

They're not all bears though. Most of them are, but dogs are a close second.

Thank you!

Really? I've never met anyone else with such a boring 'name' for their blanket. My older sister's blanket was called 'Lady,' and my younger sister named hers 'Nightie.'

My blanket's "name" was Blankie.... it wasn't yellow though! ; ) It was pink, shaped like a bear, and had a pillow for his nose. I love that blanket. *g*

Oh, you are too, too kind. I had curled my hair about 4 hours before A.J. snapped this picture, but with the heat and humidity (read: gallons of water in every breath), my poor curls didn't stand a chance. Instead, my hair is just flouncy and straight.

But thank you, anyway. ;-D

Kristen has a bear "Snuggly" that she made at Build A Bear last May. Her Girl Scout troop took their cookie money that they had earned and all the girls got to pick an animal to "build, and clothe."
Hers is a Girl Scout bear, complete with a sash and patches.
You look to cute, and I love your bears' feet! He looks VERY cuddly and warm!

Thanks!

The bear that Lyn 'won' had the most adorable little black eyes. In fact, Heather tried to get me to pick him first, but I just loved this one. He kinda reminds me of Bear from 'Bear in the Big Blue House.' :-D
