Errands and Christmas cards.
Dec. 23rd, 2005 10:36 pmThe boys and I ran around some today while
Philip slept. We didn't get a whole lot to show for it, though. I bought gift cards at Menards for the two men in the church that helped me so much with the yard this summer, and I found nice Christmas/thank-you cards to put them in. I also bought all of the new award/medal ribbons that Philip earned while he was away. He intends to wear his dress blues in church while we're back home, and his medals needed to be updated before doing so. I tried to return some pajamas that I bought just yesterday (holy cow - what was I thinking?! These pants are almost twice the size I needed!) at Wal*Mart, but after seeing the major chaos that was the parking lot, I just went on to the next errand. I am going to brave it tomorrow morning, but I won't have the boys with me then, so waiting in a returns line shouldn't be as bad as it would have been with them today.
I've paid bills and gotten everything ready for our trip home. Philip got a surprise last night and found out that he will be off tomorrow night - yay! We're going to the 3pm Christmas Eve service at church, and then we'll just relax the rest of the day/night. Relax - ha! I'm sure I'll find a bazillion-and-one things to do, seeing as how I can't get my mind out of "trip" mode even for one second.
We received nine more Christmas cards in the mail today, including one from
amberlovely. The rest of the cards were ALL from West Virginia - that was a strange coincidence. I put them up and took a new count on the 'Card Wall' - as of this moment, we have 85 lovely holiday cards! I was hoping for 75, so I'm very happy with all the postal love! I won't take them down on the 26th this year due to our leaving, but I will take pictures of the final 'Card Wall' when we return home in January. :-D
