Today marks the Tri-versary of the existence of my LiveJournal! Three years ago today, I set sail into the great beyond, writing wave upon wave of my day-to-day goings on, my thoughts, my frustrations, my pictures and my moments.

And my friends have been with me. YOU have been with me.

I filled up the car with gas last night. It wasn't empty yet, no, as we're smack in the middle of a pay period, and one tank conveniently also does seem to last us 2 weeks usually. However, the threat of of raised prices in preparation for Hurricane Rita extends everywhere, so it was a smart bet to get gas. I filled up the tank at 2.47/gal at the base gas station, and the price did indeed go up today.

*sigh*

Last night I called a new friend I'd met at the park when the boys and I strolled down there last week, and I invited her to our Parents at Home group this morning. Her name is Heather, and she called me back last night at 11:30pm to tell me that she would love to go! I picked her up and her son Korbin up this morning, and then Jack and I introduced them to the church and the group. She joined me in my care circle, and she seemed to have a really good time. Later on after we dropped them off back at their home, Jack told me all about all the different things he'd shown Korbin how to play with. ;-)

The weather was absolutely gorgeous today - so breezy and pleasant! I took advantage of that time to get into the shed and get things out for Halloween. I'd already decorated for fall in general, but today I added all of the Halloween decor. I put the stakes in the ground for the lights that line the driveway, but I decided to wait to actually put the lights on them and in them bushes until early next week. I'm not yet sure about the roof lights - I'll admit that I'm a bit tempted to climb on the roof myself, but I realize that it wouldn't be a very smart move, really... no other adults around to call 911 when I fall and break my arm (or worse) again, plus the kids aren't tall enough to toss me each new light strand, either.

A mini-trailer for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire showed tonight during a commercial break before ER. I was elated to catch my first glimpse of it on television, and I saw a few scenes that hadn't already been highlighted in the official trailer released last week. *squeee*

I gave the devotional this morning in our Parents at Home group, and I really think this is a beautiful poem.

A.J. lost his 7th tooth tonight. It's been very loose for a while now, and we actually tried pulling it out two nights ago with a washcloth. He wanted it out so badly then, but as much as I tugged, it just wasn't coming. I finally stopped and told him we'd just have to wait a bit longer.

It fell out in the bath water tonight. No, really. It did.

Have you any idea how difficult that was to find in the bubbles? On the plus side, it's quite the clean little tooth. ;-)

The 'tooth fairy' has been anticipating this loss all week, and she had therefore prepared herself with some $1 bills. In fact, I hear her knocking now, so I should probably get up and go show her to A.J.'s room...

* and [livejournal.com profile] mostcurious? You're probably the only one who would be curious wonder as to exactly which tooth he lost - facing A.J., it was the tooth just to the right of the missing upper two in this icon that you want me to replace. ;-D
