Said today:
Jack: Mom, remember when I was a baby and Dad still lived at home?

Today in the mail, I received from my darling dear Netflix these lovelies:
  • Little Black Book

  • Dear Frankie

  • Hitch

I also have here at home 21 Grams and Mr. 3000. It's time to buckle down and watch some movies! I was very pleased to learn that we now have a Netflix shipping facility right here in Omaha, though. Faster movies = yay!

I watched Miss Congeniality 2 a few nights ago. I bought it a couple of months ago, having not yet seen it, but I was very pleased with it. I think it was as funny as the original, and I'm happy for Ms. Bullock in that respect (remember previous sequel failures of hers? Speed 2, anyone?). I have a few other movies that I need to watch as well:
  • Dr. Doolittle (how sad is it that I've already seen the sequel though?)

  • Club Dread

  • Dawn of the Dead

  • Meet the Fockers

  • The Muppets Take Manhattan

  • Racing Stripes

  • Radio

  • Shark Tale

  • Shrek

  • Shrek 2

  • Super Troopers

These are all movies in our DVD collection that I've not yet seen. Got to get on that soon...

Early this morning, I woke up to a THUNK! Baby had catapulted herself (see the pun? heheheh) onto the pillows, and it woke me up. She scuttled over to my neck and started frantically pawing at the covers, trying to get underneath them. I wasn't in the mood for furry snuggles at that moment, so I reached out of the covers, scratched her chin a moment and then settled myself again. She spun around, twittered a bit and then jumped off the bed.

Hmm, I thought to myself. That was strange behavior for my Baby girl.

Two seconds after I closed my eyes again, there came another THUNK! She ran to my neck again, and again she pawed hastily at the covers. This time I noticed how wide-eyed and scared-looking her pupils were, and I opened up the covers for her. She dove in and settled herself next to my knees. I held up the covers for a tent of light, and I watched as she jerkily looked back and forth, her eyes quite fearful the whole time. I closed the covers over her, hoping she'd feel "safe" again soon.

I listened and listened for anything strange - a knocking at the door, etc. I couldn't hear anything. I wasn't worried enough to get out of bed and investigate, and I snuggled back into sleep. Later on when the alarm went off, I peeked at Baby under the covers - she still looked *off* somehow, and since she showed no inclination to crawl out, I gently eased out of bed and then covered her back up.

Hours later, at 12:30pm, I went back into my room to check on her. She was still a lump in the middle of my bed. I climbed into bed and pet her until she began purring. Finally, I was able to coax her out from under the covers. She's been fine since.

Still... I really do wonder exactly WHAT scared the bejeebus out of her this morning??
