HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DIANA!

... AND...

HAPPY TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

More to come later, I'm sure, but I've got pals over and need to scoot. :-)

Ever since Sunday and my having been re-introduced to the Christian alternative rock that I used to listen to and love, I've been on the hunt for a particular song. Unfortunately, I could only remember just a few details about it:
  • It *was* a Christian rock song

  • It was played multiple times over my trip to Centrifuge

  • When it played, Robert Watson and I would make hand motions to the part about 'hold[ing] the world in [our] hands'

  • flopbrain Randy once snapped a picture of Robert and I doing the aforementioned motions (with a Pepsi® displayed very prominently also, if I recall correctly)

Alas, these few things were not enough for me to locate the song easily. A search at Google.com yielded less than promising results for 'Christian rock world lyrics,' as did a search for 'Christian world lyrics. I knew that I could probably just ask Randy what the song was, but I also kinda wanted the sense of pride that comes with finding something on your own.

I searched through all of my old tapes today, knowing that at one point, I'd made myself a Christian rock mixed tape and that the song was on it. I couldn't find that tape (it probably died - I used to play it a LOT).

Tonight, more determined than ever, I decided to search through the musical history of each Christian rock band name I could think of, with exception to the wonderful PETRA, of course, as what I could remember didn't *sound* anything like their work. I went through Newsboys and dc Talk before finding the song among...

Audio Adrenaline's own work.

The very band that started my re-introduction to this genre of music on Sunday with their song 'Big House.'

The song is 'Never Gonna Be As Big As Jesus'. The only line I could really partially remember is this: 'Never gonna hold the world in my hand.'

*shakes head*

Ah, well. I'm just glad to have located it now.

*commences grooving and silly hand motions*
