Busy little me.
Jan. 4th, 2005 10:03 amI woke up this morning at 7:42am. A.J. was already up and watching cartoons in the living room, and I stumbled straight to the computer to check on the school's status: nothing was listed, so I figured that Ft. Crook Elementary must be open like normal. I went out and started the van, and I came back inside and picked out A.J.'s clothes so that he could start dressing.
Meanwhile, I finished getting dressed, and I woke up Jack so that he could potty before we left. I got him dressed as well, and the boys both wanted to wear their new toboggans and gloves - cute! Jack and I dropped A.J. off at school, and then we came home for the 40 minutes or so until time to take Jack to preschool.
He played with a new puzzle for a few minutes, but then Jack decided to keep me company while I unloaded the dishwasher, started a load of laundry, etc. Before I knew it, it was time to go. I bundled him up again, and I had him dropped off and was back in the car by 8:56 - pretty good time!
I ran to the bank to get a money order for a magic lamp that I won on eBay.
I should backtrack here for a moment and give you ( the 'magic lamp story': )
While at the bank, I also inquired about starting a new military checking account. We'll need something a little bit different while Philip is away, so that we don't get bombarded with ATM transaction fees and such.
I then drove to the store to pick up my last paystub for the year. I want to get to work on our taxes now so that I'm not thinking about them while Philip's parents are here. I chatted with Carmelle and Cyndy for a bit, and just as I was about to leave, I noticed some gifts on my desk! I wasn't expecting that, and I was so excited! They got me my own desk calendar (I almost cried because I felt so special!), Cyndy gave me an adorable little set of handpainted snowman coasters in a holder, and Carmelle gave me a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie mix. How sweet! :-)
Now I'm home, I've started the second and final load of laundry, put away my new goodies and I'm fixin' to call the corporate office and see if they will give me the Payee Identification number for taxes - then I won't have to wait for the W-2, and I can go ahead and file.
Oh, and I should probably take a minute to read my friends' list, right? ;-)
