Remember yesterday when I said that I'd been arguing with someone in email? That was stephanie_layne Stephanie, another one of my neighbors that I've severed ties with, along with beary_sweet Jo Ann. And look! Now SHE has a journal as well!

Not only does she now have a journal, she even had the nerve to friend me! And Heather! We are just absolutely shocked at the stupidity. Seriously, the only reason I can think of that she would have done that is because then she thinks that maybe she can see my friends-only entries or something. How dumb.

I will not tolerate her. I deleted the comment she's already made in my journal, and I banned her as well. I just wanted to let you all know that she's here now, in the very real case that she begins to troll my friends list or something. {sigh}

Jack thought the train museum was a blast! This little museum was located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and it's not nearly as publicized as the Union Pacific Museum. In fact, I can't even find a link online anywhere to a website for it - that's how little it was.

The admission included a tour of the boarding station and all of the memorabilia. Upstairs in the boarding station, the entire floor was filled with working models trains in complicated scenic landscapes. Two people have the full-time job of tinkering with the trains and building more landscapes for that area, keeping everything running smoothly. It was very neat to watch the four trains come and go through the glass, and we really had to pull Jack away from it to get him to the next thing.

Once back outside, we had three very in-depth tours of the trains in the yard. Each of the trains were from different eras, and our guide explained to us the transitions that trains have come through to be what they are today. We all climbed into the trains, and the boys posed for lots of pictures.

More train pictures behind here )

You can find all of this roll of film here.

I sat on the swing and labeled extra pictures for about an hour this afternoon/evening. I had lots of doubles that needed to be sent to family members, and they always appreciate me writing on the backs what it going on in the photo. Now I just need to finish up the letters and cards that go with them and get it all in the mail.

It was hot and sunny this afternoon, and we put the boys out on the Slip 'n Slide for a while. Naturally, then the wind started blowing a bit much, and their cheeks and lips started turning slightly purple. Oh, but they were still having too much fun to want to stop! When the sun finally left us altogether, we brought them in. I was surprised at how quickly the temperature dropped from that point on.

Now I'm sitting here at the desk, trying to catch up on my friends' list, and I'm so cold I had to bundle up in a comforter with a mug of Chocolate Chai tea. It feels like January, not August!
