It seems I've struck a chord in the sweet South in the past day or so, somehow. I've got two very determined folks in Georgia and Tennessee back-reading practically everything I've written. Well, not exactly, but to the tune of checking out exactly 172 and 177 older entries, respectively - in just one day. This is very much like my Washington (state) peep who checks in every couple hours via [livejournal.com profile] thatpatti's friends' page, or the Nebraska gal who logs out, and then comes to read (thinking that hides her).

Well, while you're all here, have some cookies!

can they read your entries? even if friend locked?

They can read the public stuff - that's all. Of course, that's about 99% of my journal. *wink*

I always wonder about that. I friend locked mine last year because I kept having people comment and i had no idea who they were or how they thought they knew me. If they'd responded when asked, I might have felt OK with it, but when there is no response at all, it made me feel strange so I locked it all up.

Definitely, I see your point.

Haha! Super sleuthy stuff, there! ;)

I don't ever check my LJ stats. I keep everything friends only, so I'd prefer to assume that everyone who is reading my journal is someone who I've allowed to be there.
If not, shame on them. lol

LJ Stats/Guests doesn't give you much information, though. I've been tracking for five years now (as of April), and this service shows you whether they look at your profile, your journal, each individual entry, which friends' page they came from (if applicable), whether they're logged in or not (if an LJ user, or if they ever *were* one), etc. It's awesome. :-)

Ooooh, can you email me your service name? This sounds like exactly what I have been looking for, for a few years now. (I'm mybonnykate at gmail.com or at livejournal.)

I emailed you. Mine's a paid service, but not terribly expensive. :-)

Oh, I have my wily, internet-savvy ways. *wink*

You have an interesting journal :)

I'm guilty of reading yours all the way through, and i've done that to most of my friends . mine (both of mine, dim-stars and mikhail-tal), are pretty extensive, and I don't mind if my friends do it to me (but I don't expect I'm that interesting)

you are a good storyteller! :)

Oh, you're sweet to say that. *blush*

I step back from it often, and I think, "How in the world do I have any online friends? I'm so boring!" But I do. And then I think that most of my friends probably think the same things about themselves, yet I find their stories eternally entertaining! :-)

But I see when you read, and it's not creepy because you *ARE* a friend, ya know?

And you have no idea who these people are? That's just kind of weird.

The GA and TN ones are brand-new (just showed up yesterday). The main NE is a regular looker (no surprise there), but the WA has only been for the last month or so. I am able to pinpoint directly down to their neighborhoods, so that takes out all the identity guesswork.

Yeah, I was just wondering what was so newly interesting yesterday... especially since I had NOT posted in a few days.

That's so crazy that you can track that stuff. I sort of wish I could but I'm not willing to pay for it lol. Especially now that I don't have a paid LJ account anymore it seems silly. (That will hopefully be changed soon.)

I think your LJ is very interesting! I wouldn't go back and re-read since I've been reading since 2005 ;) Jeeze, can you believe we've been friends over 5 years now? Where has the time gone?!

The limited abilities of LJ's statistics is laughable, really. I also can't understand why they don't have better tools, seeing as how it's their service. How does an outside service better manage their traffic, ya know?

It's crazy to think how long I've known you!

I just like to read because I'm a bored housewife with nothing better with my life or to occupy my time even though you've moved THIRTEEN hours away! I know, I should move on, right? You'd think with 3 kids, a hubby, and a house to run I'd be plenty busy! Guess you thought wrong!

I just need my Nickle fix. =(
