Music to my ears!

I just called and paid off A.J.'s clarinet!
*happy dance*
When we purchased A.J.'s clarinet in September, it was on the recommended rent-to-own plan (we couldn't be sure that 1) he'd want to stick with band, or 2) he'd want to stay with that instrument). As such, the payments were very low, and it was a 27-month deal. However, the cashier told me that if we paid off the instrument within nine months' time (June), we'd have 20% taken off the entire price. I mulled that over in the back of my mind.
Last week, we had an unexpected gift. We debated putting the money into our savings, but then we discussed how much nicer and more beneficial it would be to pay off the clarinet early, and for 1/5 off as well. So I just called up Dietze Music down in Lincoln, and it's a done deal!
A.J. has already chosen and registered for his classes for middle school next year, including band again. If, in the future, he ever decides to quit or switch instruments, we can sell the clarinet outright and not still be making payments. That's good news, but I think he's sticking with it for a while - he loves it. :-)

Date: 2010-03-24 09:14 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think the darker background does make the photos pop. And everything looks so much brighter on my new computer screen too. I should probably change my journal up a bit too. It looks ... dated.
