My friend [livejournal.com profile] cupcaked posted earlier, and her post reminded me of something.

Gerard Butler.

Yeah, I don't really get the hype. Philip and I watched The Ugly Truth last night, and while the movie was good (if not nearly as funny as I thought it would be), Gerard Butler was kinda irritating me. His character was fine, but I just couldn't really take him, and I can't exactly explain why.

So. I'll give him another shot in something else, but if I still have such a lukewarm feeling afterwards, I probably won't go out of my way to watch anything else he's in.

On the other hand... I'll take some Clive Owen eye-candy any day. *wink*

In other non-headline news, the Mint Chocolate Cookies I made yesterday are phenom-nom-nom-nomenal. Really, the chocolate cookie batter just came out perfectly fudgy, yet still cookie-like. I love them. Too bad I only had one bag of the mint chips, and I think they were only a seasonal item, or I would make more for sure.

Watch The Phantom of the Opera. He killed me in that movie. KILLED. ME. He doesn't have the greatest singing voice in the world, but damn if I wasn't rooting for the Phantom to win Christine's heart.

I also liked him in P.S., I Love You.

You know, I've seen Phantom, and he was, I guess, not special enough to really merit my attention. I liked the movie - even have it - but had already forgotten he's even in it.

And I started P.S., I Love You, but only got halfway through it before turning it off. I was really expecting to like it too, but I thought, "If I'm halfway through and still not engaged, I'm probably not going to GET that way," so I switched it off. And funny - I don't even remember him being the guy in that either.

I guess he's MORE "not my thing" than I originally thought!

Hehe...guess not.

I heard he's actually a jerk in real life...don't know if that's true or not, but it seems to me that it might be very possible.

That's the vibe I get from him, too. Philip and I were talking about it during the movie some, even.

You can get regular choc chips, melt them, add mint extract, spread on a cookie sheet and cool it and chop it up into new mint chips :)

I love Clive Owen. I always forget that I love him. All my friends hate him and I don't understand them!
