If someone is straight-up copying me/us and my/our ideas, is that considered flattery... or something else? And when it happens often, does that change things, or not?

I'm just sayin'.

If it was a one time thing, but if it is happeing "often" then I would be upset...but it depends on what "they" are copying..!

If they give you credit and say "I'm copying Navygreen because she's so cool." yes, but if they just copy they have issues.

does this have anything with me wanting to copy all your great ideas? Because if you tell me not to, I totally won't! It's flattery from me. I think it depends on the person and what their intentions are.

Not cool.

Straight up copying, especially something as personal as pictures is just rude.

I read advice columns all the time (not for advice so much as for entertainment and uh, learning). A LOT of times people write in and ask what to do because their "friend" is constantly copying them---clothes, shopping, paint colors, cars...whatever. The advice is ALWAYS to forget about it and realize that they are copying because they admire (the originator).

However...since all people are different, I honestly think that people copy others for different reasons. 1. An inability to think for themselves 2. They genuinely admire the person 3. They are deliberately out to irritate the person.

Did this person copy you just once? It could be reason #1; ie they thought it was a good idea, so they used it themselves. If it happens more frequently...#2 and/or #3 might be the cause(s).

And uh....I've apparently written an entire essay here on "People Who Copy People, and the People Who Loathe Them."

;)

It would be so snarky to just tell her:
"What nice pics I see you used my idea...!"
Oh well, it's a nice thought...
