Kitty care.

I spent a ton on the kitties today. I went off in search of an extra litterbox, and I ended up with two brand-new ones, both extra-large size. I also bought a kitty water fountain, more litter and a kitty windowsill perch (which won't fit and we'll be taking back). I was going to purchase a new litter scoop, but Wal*Mart was completely out of them.
We've had a real problem with Tuck over the past few weeks. He's still peeing in the litterbox just fine, but he'll poop on the floor in front of it instead. It's dry and easy to clean up, but it's still gross. After cleaning up poop, we'd spray it with pet odor-removing spray, but then he'd just poop on the floor in a slightly different spot. Last night, he finally had nowhere else to poop here in the office that hadn't already been sprayed, so he pooped in our bedroom - grrr! Everything I've looked up online suggested getting another litter box, and though we don't really have room for one, I finally did just that. The sites also say to keep the litterbox clean, but we're already cleaning the box 5-6 times a day, and that's more than most people I know.
I really hope this works.
The kitties are scared to death of the water fountain right now, and I'm wondering how long it will take them to come around. We tried to "show" it to them, and I've never seen any of their tails puff up quite as big as they did then. But this will be better for them, and it will keep us from refilling their water bowls 4-5 times a day, too.
