A fun Friday.

This morning I woke up to the faint sound of the phone ringing, and I raced down the hall to answer it. It was my friend Ann, and we settled in for a morning chat. She'd decided to take her kids to the Bellevue Berry Patch this morning, and she wondered if we'd like to come with them. I would have, but the boys and I already had our plans to see the first showing of Cars, and so we declined. However, I invited her and the kidlets over later in the afternoon for some Banzai Falls, and they accepted. We made plans for 4pm.
The movie was great, and we were home by 2:40pm. Philip was still out playing paintball with the guys, so I set about the task of setting up the waterslide. It was boiling hot outside, but a blustery wind was also hauling through the area, and it blew just enough to keep any sweat from sticking to me. I got everything ready, and the boys changed into their swim trunks. We waited a little bit, and then Philip arrived home. Just a minute or two after he was dropped off, Ann and the kids arrived as well.
She brought with her fresh strawberries from the patch this morning. The berries are much tinier than last year's, but they are more delicious. We went on June 14th last year, but I'd not even thought about going yet this year, actually. She also brought a fresh cantaloupe and fun sodas for the kids to share. I brought out some fresh watermelon, and we just hung out for a long while. Ann even went down the waterslide a few times (which is *so* like her, I swear!). The kids had lots of "fruit breaks" throughout their play, and we girlies lots of catching-up chat. It was very nice. They headed home around 7:30pm, and we came inside to clean up ourselves.
I cut the first small head of broccoli out of the garden tonight (it's so cute!), and there are two more tomatoes turning red VERY quickly. So exciting!
Philip's about to head out for some X-Boxing at another guy's house, and I hear the rumbles and tumbles of some thunderstorms headed our way for tonight. We've got some plans for tomorrow afternoon, but it's possible this storm might knock those out... we'll see.
