Pics from last week.

I kept promising
Philip a picture post, but I'm just now getting around to it.
A week ago, the boys were playing outside, and I was reading in the swing. They played for a few hours, and then just as it began to get dark, A.J. got the brilliant idea to push one of the tires up the slide.
(Incidentally, in case you notice in these pictures, we switched the slide and the rock-climbing wall on the swingset. As it was before, if we added on the waterslide attachment to the slide, the very end of it would have *just* hit the property line between our yard and our neighbors'. While that was not a problem, we figured they wouldn't want the muddy, mucky 'pool' that's bound to develop at the end of the slide, so we decided to move it to the other side.)

A.J. pushes with all his might, trying to get the tire all the way up the slide.
After a while of A.J. struggling alone, Jack decided to help him from the top of the slide:

Jack helps... or not.
Success!

Jack and A.J. pose with their hard-earned tire.
They pushed the tire up the slide a few more times, each time delighting most in its' descent. After tiring of that (HA! I'm so clever!), they each took a tire and rolled them all over the yard. They kept bumbling into one another, and lots of funny spills resulted.

A.J.'s goofy, tongue-y smile.

Jack tries to smile like A.J.

Oops! A mobile mishap!
They were so dirty when we finally came in. And boy, were they ever TIRED! (Heehee - I just can't stop!)
The following day, Tuesday, was a very warm one. As such, I decided to put out the sprinkler for the boys. It served two purposes, of course: 1) the boys got to have lots of fun, and 2) the garden received plenty of water. ;-)
A.J. was the first one to play in the sprinkler. He got wet quickly, and he immediately set to work trying to re-direct the spray:

...and then he goes for it with his hands.
After about ten minutes of standing on the outskirts and watching, Jack finally joined in:

Jack gets in the spray.
They played for over 2.5 hours in the sprinkler. They'd run through it for a while, then run around the yard or climb on the swingset, and then they'd come back to the sprinkler. A couple of times, Jack fell into the then-muddy garden, and when I pointed out to him how messy his new Scooby swim trunks were, he decided to wash them off.

Jack rinses off his swim trunks.

Both boys start to wind down.
You can tell that Jack was really starting to get tired. He just plopped himself down right next to the sprinkler and sat there for a while. While doing so, I noticed something, and it quickly became the best picture of the day:

Jack's very perfectly placed tag.
Heehee. He will *LOVE* me for that shot when he gets older! And if he doesn't, well then THIS ONE will have to step in! :-D
