"That's it. There is no next step. We. Are. Done."

Jack looks through the telescope.

It's done! It's done! If you'd like to see the completed swingset, there are tons of happy, fun pictures right here!

After dropping A.J. off at school yesterday morning, I had planned on snuggling back in bed for another couple of hours while Jack watched cartoons. However, the sky looked ominously gray, and I hated to take the chance of napping for two hours only to wake up and find it raining, and then not being able to complete the swingset because of the wet wood. So I decided to abandon the snuggle and just get it all done. Maria and her kids came over one last time for the last bit of work, and we finished everything we could before stopping to pick Nathan up from preschool and eat lunch. We were short two machine screws for the 12th rock on the rock-climbing wall, and I wanted to buy two additional sets of play handles, plus the available telescope for the swingset, so I ran to Menards while Maria was picking up Nathan.

Once we'd picked up A.J. from school, I came home and quickly put in the last screws and the handles and telescope. Then it was all done! The Baumgardners came back over, but this time they came just TO PLAY!! And of course, I took lots of pictures. :-)

I took these mainly for Philip to be able to see everything, so if you are not interested, please pardon the nearly 360° tour of the set. ;-)

Jack on the completed swingset.
He likes to call it 'Club Jack.' :-D

Back view.

Right side view.
You can see the blue telescope on the tower deck here. You can also see the green 'sandbox seats' underneath the tower in this picture, but we don't plan on putting sand in there. They'll just be 'regular' seats for us. ;-)

Front view.
Jack wanted to play on each thing as I was walking around the set taking pictures. Here, he's on the 'Bronco Rider,' just cheesing it up for me as I click. You can also see the gray vertical climbers, the swing, the trapeze and a bit of the rock-climbing wall.

Rock-climbing wall.
You can also kinda see the blue periscope.

Steering wheel inside the upper deck.
I added this piece to the swingset 'kit.' I bought it at the same time, but it was still additional. I ended up also buying the two extra sets of play handles and the telescope.

Left side view.
Jack's trying out the vertical climber in this picture. He can get across two monkey bars if he starts at the outside vertical climber, but he can't quite make it all the way in... yet. ;-)

A.J. on the swing.
His favorite thing is to keep twisting up the swing and then letting it unwind while he spins around. He was showing Jack how to do it, saying he learned it at school. :-)

Jack climbs UP the 10-foot wavy slide.
This summer, I plan on buying the 4-foot slide extension that turns the slide into a water slide - very cool feature, and it has a splashy thing at the end for a nice big spray. :-)

All of the kids (Maria's included) seemed very excited to be able to finally play on and with everything. They couldn't run from one plaything to another fast enough, and it was so fun to watch them all get so silly. I'm glad it's as much fun for them to play on it as it was for us to build it. :-)

Though it was up to 82° yesterday, I woke up after my morning nap to it pouring down rain. I don't care anymore, though - bring on the monsoons; the swingset's already done! ;-)

Oh, and last night, I finally was able to vacuum again really well. My friends make fun of me because I vacuum a bit obsessively normally, and I DustBust® continuously as well. However, since there's been spare pieces of wood and hardware and parts strewn all over my house since last Thursday, not to mention the 7-8 people who've been in the house all the time, plus the sleepover on Sunday night... well, I'd not had an opportunity *TO* vacuum. So last night after we came in from playing outside, I finally did, and oh - it felt so good to be completely clean again! Ahhhhh.
