I just finished up my recipe basket. It had been a work-in-progress for years, but now it is finally done. Years ago, I went through my mom's recipes, pulling out any that I wanted to copy and did those. She also tossed a TON of recipes, and some of those I just brought home for me to keep and copy later. They'd been sitting in the box among my regular recipe cards for all this time. In addition, I would clip things from magazines and whatnot, and it was just out of control.
I have a 4x6 Longaberger® Recipe™ Basket, with two packages of matching cards inside. About 75% of my recipes have pictures glued to the back as well (either my own, or ones from magazines, etc.), and then they are laminated (it keeps them from getting messy while cooking). Now that I've finished up copying all the "loose" recipes I had, everything is neat, tidy, and uniform. I will be taking this batch of 30-40 cards I just finished to be laminated sometime this week, and then file them away under the appropriate headers in the basket.
It feels so nice to finally accomplish this task!
