Though just a smidge over halfway, at best. We still don't know a date, but we're hoping for good things.

But Philip has been gone 106 days now. I'm having a rough week, I think, as I've teared up repeatedly over the most stupid things in the past couple of days. Nothing big - just... well, stupid stuff.

There are some who think I'm heartless because I don't spend all my days, every day, crying my eyes out and moping around. Truly, those same people have never been a military wife. Had they been, the realization would come that it takes days of having a hard "outer shell" just to get by.

Even so, the best shells can still start to crack.

Though it's probably true that I'm heartless, too. Honestly, my heart is across the ocean, in a war zone and in harm's way. There's no more 'less' than that I could be right now.

*sigh*

Z...?

Weird.

Three people on my flist mentioned zombies within ten minutes of each other.

Is there an attack I'm not aware of?

*casts furtive glances all around*

It appears that [livejournal.com profile] kpnut does not ever want me to catch up on comments. She's a lovable evil that way. :-)
navygreen: (Tatting)
I can't stop. My elbow is KILLING me, but I can't make myself stop. Heck, I can't even make myself stop starting.

I've got three projects going at the moment (a Colonial Lady, an intricate new style of bookmark, and a gift for a friend). The latter of those is something teeny, and I take it along to places when I can almost mindlessly tat, as it's a repeating pattern.

But I won the charm for my soon-to-be choker today, and I'm excited to start working on that. And then I found the coolest snake pattern anywhere, and it's BEGGING me to make it right now. (Well, as soon as I can head out to find suitable coolest thread to work it, that is.)

I only have five shuttles, so that means I'll have to finish something... hypothetically. The last time I ran out of shuttles (just under two weeks ago), I just went out and bought another 2-pack. :-D
navygreen: (Runza)
I talked to Ryan a couple of weeks ago about changing my schedule once the boys were out of summer school (which ends on June 15th). Other than the fact that I really love being at Runza, there's no point to me working so much during the summer vacation when I'm paying a babysitter exactly what I make in a day's wages. It was different during the school year - the boys were taken care of, and Runza was very short on workers, what with all our high-schoolers still in school - there were only 4-5 of us that could work during Monday-Friday lunches, usually.

But now all the high-schoolers are out, and I'm happy to turn over a few of my hours to them since it's not like working would actually be adding a real income to our family at this point anyway. So I've dropped down to working just three days a week - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - until the boys go back to school. It will allow me to continue working at Runza (which I love), and it will give the boys time with other folks, too (a couple of different babysitters throughout the summer hols) - which they love.

A win-win situation, really. :-)

Glitch?

LJ must be having a glitch of some sort. When I refreshed my flist just now, I saw two new posts near the top: one from [livejournal.com profile] marshmelococoa and one from [livejournal.com profile] welfy. The first post has no place to leave a comment (which I wanted to), and then the second post will allow me to go in and edit tags on the entry... but it's not *my* entry!

(Sorry 'bout that, Erin. I was trying to find a way to comment, and it actually did pull up your tagging screen, complete with all your available tags. But I didn't choose and save anything, of course.)

So. Strange.
