navygreen: (Christmas - ornaments)
Well, at current count, 84 cards have gone out. I've been working hard since last night. *wipes brow*

I'm really starting to worry about our mail situation, though. Last week, we received one circular ad in our old mailbox (which we've still been checking daily), but that was it. But I've not received ONE thing that has a forwarding sticker on it, and we've been at this address for one month and one day now. Shouldn't I have had something by now? I'm really going to be mad at the post office if things are as I fear - that we have no forward order on record, as they already charged my credit card for the change of address (I did it online, and they use a card to verify that you're really you).

But I'm thinking that's the case, as poor ashen_butterfly Gret received her card to us BACK in the mail today, saying there was no forward order.

*sigh*

In MUCH happier news, we did receive three Christmas cards in the mail at our new house today - yay! One from [livejournal.com profile] catharin, one from [livejournal.com profile] tylerbaby and a surprise one from [livejournal.com profile] kpnut. I wish you could all could see the card and special note that Kelly sent, as it's so neat, and just reading everything really made me feel "connected" to the card. Thank you all so much, and your cards are already proudly displayed on the 'Card Wall.'

I must be running a low-grade fever. Think I might've been for a few days, in fact. That seems to be par for the course during my "girly" days. I can't get warm for anything, and I have been wearing sweatshirts and jackets in the house - even at night. The boys, however, are absolutely roasting. If they were running around or something, I could see why that might be, but they're hot just sitting around on the couch. And at night, they've been on TOP of their covers to keep cool while I'm freezing away in my sleep.

I discovered today that closing the blinds on all the windows does keep the house a tad warmer (I usually have all the blinds open as soon as I'm up for the day), but I can also tell that the boys are even that much warmer for closing them. Poor Jack peeled off his long-sleeved shirt about half an hour after we got home today, and he's been lounging around in just his jeans to keep cool.
