A.J.'s concert.
Apr. 25th, 2006 10:23 pmTonight was A.J.'s spring concert, and the kids put on a musical: "The Cheese Stands Alone." It was so cute, and A.J. did a fabulous job singing his part. He stood nice and still while all the kids piled onto the stands, and he didn't fidget with the kids around him. He was wearing one of the classier-looking outfits of the night (he'd said they were to wear their "best clothes," so he had on khaki slacks and a crisp, white oxford shirt, along with his dressy socks and loafers). We were so proud. He was placed on the stands just opposite from where we were seated, so I got a few good pictures of him performing.
I tried out the digital video (with sound) for the first time on this camera, and it was fabulous! Oh, and I picked a prime moment, as A.J. hammed it up in the song, "Hot Time in Cheese Town," at a moment when I was completely NOT expecting it! I had to work so hard at not laughing out loud (and therefore into the camera's sound reception) that I had tears streaming down my face. I turned slowly to
Philip while still filming and mouthed, "I got that!" He'd missed it and didn't know what I was talking about. I could not wait to get home and watch the video! And we all laughed and laughed, and A.J. was so happy to see himself, too. I might just make a CD of the video and send it to his music teacher. ;-)
We went out for dessert after the concert, and A.J. picked the Dairy Queen in Papillion (it's larger than the one here in Bellevue, and much nicer). The boys had Blizzards, I had a Dilly Bar and Philip had a Dipped Cone. It was a nice end to a fun night.

Video clip: Hot Time in Cheese Town (the length is 1 min, 15 sec. - but it is SO GREAT! You'll be happy you watched it, I swear!)
Edited to add: Since many of you are having trouble with the Quicktime version of the clip in my LJ Scrapbook, I've also uploaded the clip to another source. From there, you'll be able to download the clip and view it in your choice of media program (Windows Media, Quicktime, Winamp, etc.) The new link can be found HERE.
