navygreen: (Draco - banned books)
So I smoked Philip in the first round of our new trivia game. I beat him in the second game as well, but it was a separation of only one turn for that one. He's read the books too, just not as many times or with *quite* as much enthusiasm as I have. ;-)

I received my book in the mail today from [livejournal.com profile] yorkybar! I was so excited, and I was very happy to get it so soon - it only took a week, and that was from England! It is soooooo funny, just as I knew it would be. I've read [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's "15 Minutes" on Jurassic Park, Titanic and - of course - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Sorcerer's Philosopher's Stone. They are ALL fabulous, and I couldn't contain my laughter (though Philip and the boys kept giving me looks like I was deranged). I highly, highly recommend her book, especially if you've already loved her stuff in [livejournal.com profile] m15m. You won't regret it. Thank you again, Lizzy, for nabbing me a copy - you are the bestest! :-)

Philip and Ryan are in the living room playing X-Box, and I think I'm going to rearrange some things in the office. Our tax return is coming very soon, and with it, we plan to get another bookcase or two (though how much room I can make with rearranging will help us decide). We have board games out to WaZoo, and I've got to figure out a better place for them, as they are taking four entire shelves themselves! I've also got lots of new books needing homes:

And I intend to have more books very soon, so we need more space!

Welp, I'd better get back to clearing off my desk.

Spicy!

Food find!

If you've ever missed Frito-Lay's® CrunchTaters™ chips, you need to try the new Kettle Cooked JalapeƱo™ chips from Lays®. Sooooo good!

O, crazy LJ-gods of irony! What would it be like if I were able to stay logged in long enough to update?

*ahem*

Yes. Well.

Jack was Little Helper Man today. At the commissary, he picked out the tomato sauces and seasonings for his dinner choice of spaghetti tonight. He dutifully broke the spaghetti noodles in half and added them to the boiling water (while I supervised, of course). While the pasta was boiling, he helped me construct all the layers of a fantastic banana pudding for dessert (which was, again, his idea for tonight). Such a joyful little helper today, he was.

The boys played for a good long while today while I read my book outside. The raced their bikes up and down the street, and I took a few pictures. (Can you believe I hadn't used my camera in over a week?) After they tired of that, they played a hearty game of football amongst themselves, and their "tackles" were really too cute. They worked up quite an appetite for the aforementioned spaghetti and banana pudding.

We're heading to a birthday party for Jack's classmate Rudi tomorrow at SkateCity, and the boys are über-excited about that. I'd asked Ann what Rudi needed/wanted, and we decided to get her movie gift certificates. I'm going to wrap them up all prettiful, and then we'll be good to go.

I'm going to download these pictures now, hoping that there's a decent one to show you of Jack's outfit from today. Philip dressed him this morning for preschool, and I swear, he was a walking traffic cone: orange pants, orange sweatshirt, orange ski cap and orange Sippy cup. *shakes head*

Here are a few pictures of 'The Vision in Orange' (otherwise known as 'Jack, the Walking Traffic Cone'), along with a picture of A.J. as well. :-)

Put on your protective eyegear! )

And I'm off to make an icon or two, I think. ;-)
