Cookies & paychecks, cards & packages.
Dec. 15th, 2005 04:17 pmToday has been tasty! I went to church this morning with these (Swirled Surprise Cookies), and I came home with a huge cake plate FULL of all of these! So many yummies on one dish!
Our Parents at Home meeting this morning was nice and relaxed, and we all munched on extra cookies while chatting. It was our last meeting before the holiday break, and our next one will be a scrapbooking class on Jan. 5th. It's hard to believe we'll have already been home for our vacation and be back by that time - where do the days go?!
I went by work today. They called me a couple of weeks ago to let me know that I had a paycheck there. I knew it wouldn't be much, just my final travel expenses, and I just wasn't motivated to go there for such a tiny amount. Still, I knew that it probably bugged them to hang on to it forever, so I finally stopped and picked it up. From the moment I pulled in the parking lot, I felt like I had to gulp for air. It was awful having those feelings again. Hopefully now I won't ever have to go back again. It certainly wasn't worth the $2.79 check I picked up. :-/
I was cheered up by the mail when I came home today, though. We received six more Christmas cards in the mail today, including ones from
mrs_picasso,
tjoelyn and
Janiece. Philip had to go out for more tape so I could put all of these up. He's also picking up some brown paper, and I'm going to wrap the boxes for our nieces and nephews up and get them in the mail in the morning. I actually was at the post office for a short time today (I needed to post a card to Singapore - a first for me [*winks at
curledfries*]), and the lines were crazily long. I'll go while Jack's in preschool so that standing in line won't be a drag for him. ;-)
