I'm distracted this evening. I have no idea why. I've been working on a third installment for one of the MuggleNet columns I'm in charge of, and I've stopped about a bazillion times in the process. I'm only halfway through even now, and here I am... stopping again.

Philip's passed out on the couch and has been since 10pm. I knew he would go to sleep because he took out his contacts. Heheh. That always works almost instantly. But seriously, I absolutely CANNOT fall asleep that early, so there's no point not continuing to get some work done while he takes a nap.

I'm working for Ann in the church nursery tomorrow. She volunteered to work during the 11am service, but then something came up. I'm at that service anyway, so it's no problem to step in and help. It's been a long, long time since I've worked in a church nursery. Sure, I substituted in Jack's classroom for three weeks last year, but that was different. I feel a little bit like I've come full-circle, though; my very first job ever was in my church's nursery in high school. I started at the end of December, and I earned $52.06 in wages my first year of working.

(I find it odd how I remember that amount exactly now. Hmmm...)

Alrightee. Time to get back to work.

Quiet.

It's quiet in our house right now. REALLY, really quiet, in fact.

Wanna know why? )

I just tagged the entries from Oct-Dec 2004 for [livejournal.com profile] draco_hermione. I've still got lots to do, but I've done 15 of the 33 months now... that's something, right? ;-)

Today was mix-n'-match lunch after church. Jack and I had chicken gumbo (I made it about 2 months ago, and I put half of the batch in the freezer then), A.J. had chicken noodle soup and crackers, and Philip ate sandwiches and soup. We all had slices of Monterey Jack with our meals. We freed up the refrigerator from a few leftovers, and I feel good about that.

Speaking of meals, I've actually got a meal plan posted on the fridge for the next couple of weeks, and I shopped according to that when we went the commissary a few days ago. I haven't made a meal plan in forever, but this will be good for us, planning-wise AND money-wise.

Jack wants to play on the computer now, so I think I'm going to get comfortable in bed for a short snooze.
