It's another Saturday night.
Jul. 3rd, 2005 01:21 pmI went to bed with nothing stronger than Ibuprofen 800 last night. I only have 4 little Percocet pills left, and I've got to make them last through as many re-packings as possible.
Speaking of re-packing, I tried to be brave last night. I took just one Percocet an hour and a half before
Heather came to re-pack the wound. Bad idea! Though it seems that the actual packing part is bound to hurt at the same level no matter what, the burning/pain afterwards is greatly diminished by taking two pills instead of one. I cried in the "afterburn" for almost 15 minutes, and my legs were shaking. So I'm saving what I have left for the next two packings - after that, I'm not sure what I'll do.
I've not taken anything today. I'm trying really hard to get off the meds and just use them later. We'll see how it goes. Heather came over at lunch and french-braided my hair for me. Since I've been taking a shower right before she re-packs the wound (and that involves lying still for some time afterwards), I've not been able to dry and curl my hair like I would want to. Once it's dry, it's too late to do much else with it, so she braided it for me for today. Her first french-braid, too. :-)
Alrightee. I'm out for a bit. Going to try running an errand to get lightbulbs and a new computer mouse (the boys killed the right-click button on this one, and I've learned that I need it BADLY). I'm going to try to be out a little bit longer than the last time, but I'll still take it slowly.
