I was originally going to just point to this amusing story bit in hetterrific Heather's journal today, but I decided that I'd want it here in my own when I have it published later.

So, here it is: (my pardon to those of you on both mine and Heather's friends' lists, and also, yes - I did get permission to reproduce this text here)

We were getting out of the car at Target:

Jack: (points at side of car) Heather, is that where you put gas in?
Me: Yes, Jack, that is.
Jack: You put gas in your car?
A.J.: (in his know-it-all, six-year-old voice) Jack, everyone has a gashole.

And *I* say, "Ba-dump-bump-ching! :-D

Ahhhh! It smells like a Lively/Hyacinth & Grapefruit/Cinnamon Sticks/Spiced Vanilla/Pineapple & Pomegranate/Guava & Papaya/Country Apple/Strawberry Rhubarb/Honeydew garden in here.

Have I mentioned how much I love candles? ;-)

While we were outside tonight, A.J. was running to water his baby tree and he tripped. I joked with him and said, "Been walkin' long?" He thought for a minute, complete with his very philosophical look, and then he asked, "Mom, when *did* I start walking?"

This is why I love scrapbooking, folks. This is why I love having baby albums. I love being able to pull out 'his book' and re-tell him a part of 'his story.' I told him how he was such a smart baby, how he did everything so much earlier than every other baby I knew. He pulled himself to standing for the first time at just 6.5 months... and he refused to eat breakfast any other way from that day on! He started walking at 7.5 months, and by the time we moved to Alaska and he was nearing 10 months, he was RUNNING all over the hotel room and our temporary housing!

A.J. pulls himself to standing for the first time - 6.5 months (bottom right corner of page)

An old hat at this, A.J.'s just giggling away - 7.5 months (more standing in the crib)

Caught walking around the coffee table to get the doggy - just barely 9 months (look at the Memorial Day section)

A.J. at 10 months, 1 week.

Yep, at one time, A.J. did know how to walk! ;-D
