HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMBER RENEE!

I slept very well last night, and my tummy doesn't feel so 'off' this morning... er, um... midday (sheesh - it took me about an hour to catch up on my friends' list this morning!).

The sleeping has been so much better for another reason. See, back when we first received our darling Baby kitty, she clawed a nice little hole into the bottom of our box spring. She would climb IN the box spring and sleep, and she'd rustle around a bit, causing me to wake up when I'd feel it beneath me. Well, Baby got bigger and so did the hole... big enough that the other two cats even joined in. Soon, it seemed as if we had nothing but rustle-fests in the mattress!

Over a week ago, hnatgraluk Maria helped me to rip off all of the flimsy, torn-up mesh stuff on the bottom of the box spring. We went to the store and bought some black taffeta (we'd been looking for something ridiculously cheap, and this was in the $2/yd section). We came home and used her staple gun to attach it to the bottom of the box spring! Voila! Magnificent new covering that the kitties can't get into, won't tear a hole easily and feels good to rub if you're laying on the floor and you so choose to! :-D

(I believe A.J. took a few pictures on *his* camera, so you might see some of this event, but it will be much later, when his roll is done and developed.)

The kitties aren't very happy with the new arrangements, I should add. They hardly go under the bed anymore at all. Instead, they all smush behind the recliner.

I guess it's time that I go unload the dishwasher and hop in the shower. After that, it will be lunchtime already. I'm also thinking that today might be a good day to rearrange all of the bookcases here in the office. *nods*

Edited to add: Philip just called and we talked for almost an hour... so now I'm really behind for today! Yikes!

I had a dream last night. (Duh.) However, in this dream heartrot Clayton and his lovely wife came to visit our family. Instead of having a baby on the way, though, they came with a 2-yr. old. We sitll lived in this house, and Philip and Clayton got along swimmingly (as I always figure that they *would*).

A very nice, very pleasant dream. And Clayton, I hope that one day I really *DO* get to meet ya. ;-)

Alrightee, folks. This post brings me to...

my 1500th entry!!

It's a big party here, and I'm inviting all of my FRIENDS! You are all so special to me, and I wanted to take a moment here to remember how or when I met you.

(The userpics next to each of you are the ones that I either a) like the best, or b) most remind me of you - in case you begin to wonder.)

Here goes:

Party inside! )

WHEW! It's now 9:48pm, so it's taken me nearly 7 hours (yes, I got up and left the computer several times for several different things throughout all of this) to make this post. At one time, Internet Explorer was "sorry for the inconvenience" and "needed to close," but I was able to paste everything into a Word doc quickly and not lose it all.

Happy anniversary, pals! :-D

I've gotten very lax about footwear when Jack and I are leaving the house to pick up A.J. from school. Since it's usually just a quick trip out to the school and then right back, I don't worry with formalities; I slide on Philip's tennis shoes (they're bigger and I don't have to worry with untying and tying back), and I usually just carry Jack out barefooted and strap him into the car.

I realized today how lax I've truly become. I put my foot on the brake before turning the ignition, and I realized that *I* was barefoot as well - eep!
