...

No... no, wait. Hang on.

*looks at clock dumbfoundedly*

*realizes it is only 9:53am, not 10:53am*

We have over an hour to get to church, not just 7 minutes.

Stupid clock on the phone. Who forgot to reset it last Daylight Savings Time?!

*grumbles at clock that said 10:30am when it was REALLY 9:30am*

*sigh*

^ That was just my very quick, very rushed morning. I shot out of bed when I noticed the time on the phone, and I quickly gave the boys a bath and got them dressed and ready for church. I was so thankful that I took my bath and shower last night, as there absolutely wouldn't have been time to squeeze it in before we had to leave.

The boys were poised at the front door, ready to walk out on my command, and I was sitting on the entry floor, putting my shoes on. I looked over at the cable box in the living room and noticed the time. I did a double-take.

Crap. We were an hour off.

*sigh*

So now we're all dressed and ready to go, and we've got an hour until church starts. I think this calls for a breakfast out, don't you? ;-)

It's the little things that are getting to me on a daily basis.

For example, the sign-in sheets for Sunday School. I always fill them out like this:

A.J./Jack Cleghorn (child)
SNC (my initials)
Mom or Dad (who can pick up child)
_______ (whichever one of us picks up child)

Today, though, I had to fill it out differently. It occurred to me as I went to write 'Mom or Dad' that Dad isn't here. He isn't going to be here for a long time either, so there's no point writing him down as one who can 'pick up child.'

I think that the first Sunday after Philip comes home, I will have him fill out the entire sign-in sheet, for drop-offs and pick-ups... just because I will be able to.

*sigh*

We had a special guest speaker at church today - Dr. Jean Garton. She was an amazing person, and I was captivated by her stories and words. She will be speaking tonight at a special 7pm service (our church doesn't normally have Sunday eve services, as they have a Saturday eve service), but there will be no childcare, so I can't attend. I suppose it's just as well - I'm still waiting for Philip to call home, and chances are that he would call at that time if we went, knowing that we would normally be home then.
