This afternoon we all went to the Baumgardner's house for Bobby's Staff Sergeant promotion barbecue. It was fun, and there was lots of good food. We forgot to cut up the watermelon, though!
As we were leaving,
Maria gave the boys
this as a combined birthday present (their birthdays are only 14 days apart). It's a very neat toy, and they really seem to like it a lot. Jack's already gotten stuck in it twice, and it's so cute when he needs help out of it. :-)
Speaking of birthday presents, the boys each got their gifts from their Aunt Michelle & Uncle Tom today. It was a big box, and Philip and I had no idea what was going to be in it. Jack received a BIG 'Thomas the Tank Engine' train/tunnel thing (those tent-like playhuts), and A.J. received a remote-controlled Woolly Mammoth. Jack LOVES his train, but he is so scared of A.J.'s toy. He'd sit in his train and cry if A.J. got too near to it with the woolly mammoth. Poor thing.
I've just made two loaves of zucchini bread. Yes, I baked them this late at night. Oh, but the house smells divine! I purposely didn't light any candles tonight, knowing that the bread would overpower anything I'd have had burning. Tomorrow I'm going to make two loaves of chocolate zucchini bread. Then I'll have lots to freeze and give away. :-) I even have about 2/5 of a zucchini left to use!
I'm about to start working on my Christmas cards. I bought a bunch the other day while at the shopping malls in Gretna with Grammy & Papa George, and I'm anxious to get started on them. If you would like one, please email me:
