1. Other than "Wow, that hurt." what was the first thought to pop in your head after giving birth for the first time?

[livejournal.com profile] amy_jes will laugh at this one! :-D

When A.J. was born and placed on my chest, I immediately noticed his smell. I've always been one to associate smells quickly, and that's how I make memories. I remember thinking to myself, "He smells like something that has been pickled." What I said, however, was:

"He smells like a pickle."

2. Who're the top five people on your pre-approved list?

I should back up just a bit and give everyone else some background info here. See, I've made up a 'list' of "People Whom I Could Sleep With if the Opportunity Arose, and That I Would Not Have to Consult Philip About" - you know, celebrities and stuff. Chances that might only come around once. (This is TOTALLY just for fun - nobody get all upset, k?)

So, my list:

1. Ben Affleck (of COURSE!!)
2. Josh Hartnett
3. Matthew McConaughey
4. Brad Paisley - Steve Burns (a tie)
5. Tracy Byrd

And, for those who may be interested, here is Philip's list:

1. Jennifer Love Hewitt
2. Brittany Murphy
3. Kirsten Dunst
4. Mandy Moore
5. Jennifer Garner
6. Jewel

Alrightee, what's the rest of yours??

3. If you could do something different in your life, what would it be and why?

I would not run from cameras. I've had so many missed opportunities for my picture, but I ran away thinking that my hair wasn't perfect enough, I wasn't wearing the right thing, etc. I'd love to have more pictures of me. Now that I'm scrapbooking a lot, I find that I'm not in these books purely because there are just not pictures of me. And I want my boys and future generations to know what I looked like. :-(

4. What famous dead person would you like to meet?

Phil Hartman. I like funny guys, and he's one of the best. And his death was just sooooo unexpected. I'd like to know more about him. :-)

5. What's one of yor favorite movies and why?

Right now, I'd have to say Bounce. There is just so much real emotion in that movie. Lies, fear, forgiveness, heartache, trust, love - just a wonderful movie. It's been out for a couple of years but I just saw it about 3 months ago.

~ Here's the rules:

Comment if you'd like some interview questions yourself. Then answer them in your own journal. Include instructions. This way, the interview goes round and round, but each person only has to answer to one interview, yet gets to make up questions for lots of people.

(Really, it's not all that exciting...)

Two evenings ago, Jack woke up from his nap and had wet on his bedding. Actually, he had taken off his diaper and SOAKED the bedding. So it was time for an impromptu laundry load.

I washed his sheets and comforter and the other few 'light-colored' things that I had. Philip told me he wanted me to wash his uniform when I did Jack's red pillowcase in the 'dark' load. No problem.

The boys were playing in the pool, and we had company over when it was time for me to put in the 2nd load. I put in the pillowcases and all of our other 'dark' stuff, then I asked Philip where his uniform was. He told me to go outside and watch the boys, and that he would put it in. I argued for a second, saying, "No, just tell me where it is, and I'll do it." But he insisted once more, and I went outside.

Later on this evening, Philip begins pulling clothes out of the dryer. It was a large load, and the load was still quite damp. He said, "Something's bleeding on these," and I jumped up. Black ink splotches all over everything.

Philip immediately must have known what had happened, because he made a point of saying, "Well, I know I didn't leave a pen in there, because I took it out of my uniform." We dug through the load some more - sure enough, one of Philip's black pens, broken in half, empty of all of its' ink.

As it turns out, Philip decided to wash TWO of his uniforms at the last minute. But he only checked ONE uniforms' pockets. I was so mad and so frustrated at myself for not just doing it myself - I've found things in his pockets before. I told him that it's time like this that make me just want to do things myself, since I know he only does things "half-way." He argued with me, saying, "I didn't do anything 'half-way.'" Excuse me? Checking ONE of TWO things is EXACTLY 'half-way,' is it not?

And so, we spent an hour hairspraying everything the first night. Then we washed everything again. Nothing had happened. Yesterday morning, I used Shout StainOUT! on everything. Then I let it all soak in Oxyclean for 7 hours. Then washed it all again. I can't tell much, but I think a few tiny spots are gone. Last night, I sprayed 'Goo Gone' on everything. And washed it all again. I still can't tell. I let everything soak in Oxyclean again overnight. And I just washed it all again today.

I'm fixin' to spray everything with aerosal hairspray (previously, I'd use 'squirt' kind) and see if that helps. That's everything that I can try. :-(

Two of my six really nice shirts were in the load, along with several of the boys' really nice outfits. Naturally, none of Philip's shirts really suffered any damage. And the boys' shorts and pillowcases - it just goes on and on. It's so frustrating, and I fear that these things are ruined. :-(

To top it all off, yesterday at lunch Philip decided to "joke" about it. He said, "Tell Heather it's all her fault." (I was on the phone with her at the time. See, we'd gone to the movies, and Philip was implying that it was our rushing around to get to the movies in time that had caused the ink problems - nevermind that he put the load in TWO HOURS before we even needed to leave). Heather and I neither one found his "joke" funny. It's definitely too soon to "joke" about something like this, and, if the ink never comes out, it will probably NEVER be a good time to "joke" about ruining mine and the boys' best outfits by being so stupid and not checking his pockets.

Grrr. I'm just so frustrated. And yeah, the biggest reason that I'm upset is because Philip doesn't really think he needs to apologize. He just doesn't see this as a big deal. And, like [livejournal.com profile] hetterrific said, if I had done something like this to something of HIS, he'd be busting through the roof.

There was one time that I went to cut out a particularly scratchy tag out of one of his favorite shirts. I accidentally cut a teeny hole right at the neck of the T-shirt. Philip was at work. I actually CRIED while trying to tell him what I had done when he came home from work. See? I CRIED, and Philip just doesn't care.

[sigh]

Legally Blonde 2:

Funny. I can't really say if this one was better than the first one, since it's been a long time since I've seen it... but I definitely do think that I LOL-ed much more in this one. Heehee - the doggie story line was so cute!

Get Carter:

Enh. I thought this was supposed to be a tiny bit humorous, and I found no funnies in it at all. Sylvester Stallone and a bunch of other people. Just so-so.

Spanish Judges:

Well, the movie was alright. Vincent Dinofrio and (shocker!) Matthew Lillard, in what was the most serious role I've seen him in yet (think She's All That, Scooby Doo, Hackers and Scream). Vincent was very good in his role, and I really enjoyed watching him. And Matthew, even though still much more serious, still managed to have some of his 'trademark' character. But WOW! The ending MADE that movie! That's all I can say, though - don't want to give anything away. ;-)

Some dear friends of mine, Tasha and Milo, have started their very own livejournal. If you would like to check it out it out, it's here: [livejournal.com profile] doodlesandbug. :-)

On my box of Velveeta Shells & Cheese, under 'Top of Stove Directions,' it actually has this:

Step 4: LOAD fork or spoon with creamy VELVEETA Shells & Cheese. Open mouth; insert utensil. Repeat as needed.

How lame.
