Therefore, Heather is being induced and has been at the hospital for about six hours now, meanwhile - in the same hour - I fell really badly on my way home from work, and I do not yet know whether it is a very bad sprain, possible tendon/muscle damage or a hairline fracture in my right ankle.

Will know and have more details about both tomorrow, I'm sure.

Tonight, I sleep with ice packs and the phone. Trust me when I tell you that it took ALL I HAD not to just go straight to the hospital where Heather is to have my ankle looked at, if only so I'd be right there if she needed anything. Literally, I called my doctor and got approval to go to her hospital instead of the base clinic, even. The ONLY thing that stopped me was that it made arrangements for the boys tonight extremely iffy, and that there's no point running up there when it could be hours and hours still before the baby is here.

First priority? Baby. Second priority? Enh, maybe the doctor can look over my foot while I hold the wee one. ;-)

aww, that's so sweet of you to share some of the pain.

But I'm worried about all your falls. Please get checked out. A badly healed ankle will haunt you for years and years.

I can attest to that. I had a level 4 sprain (which I think is the classification right before a break) on my right ankle in January and it STILL hasn't healed right. and if you need a ski boot type of brace, I have one I can send to you.

I'm worried about the wrapping. I can't re-wrap it nearly as well as they did. It's a serious sprain, and they suspect tendon damage, but it's too swollen right now to test the motion and diagnose it.

When I was being induced with Meg, Mom was at the hospital with me. Her foot was "acting up", but she refused to go downstairs and have a doc look at it. She was in a wheelchair when she first held Meg. Stubborn woman!

She's due July 11th, but the baby has also measured one week ahead all along, meaning she was 38 weeks yesterday, but the baby was actually showing closer to 39 weeks. (Her appointments are on Wednesdays.) But she had to go straight from her check-up yesterday to be induced - doctor's orders.

You are the queen of owies lately huh? :( I fell at the movie theater yesterday and jacked up my right foot/ankle. But, for me, it's the no insurance thing. I was in pretty bad pain, but there is no swelling or bruising... it's weird. I hope your ankle/foot is feeling better soon!

Dammit I'm going to be gone for a few days too :( I'll miss the big baby announcement! Boo!
