Quiet food and check-ups.

The house is so still. I like it when it's like this, but sometimes it can get kinda weird. I may have to find a kitty to come purr on my lap to help break the silence.

Warm doughnuts and cold milk for breakfast this morning. Yeah, it's not quite the stuff for champions, but then again, I'm not really a hopeful for Torino this year (Olympics).

I scheduled my annual check-up (including girly violation) this morning, so that will be on Monday. Usually when I've tried to schedule those appointments, they soonest they can get me in is a month or so away. I was shocked to call today - a Friday - and find out that my appointment is on the next business day - a Monday. I think I spluttered on the phone, even.

I think I'm going to toss in a load of laundry. It'll be nice to have it done, and it'll knock this crazy-eery quiet.

DOn't put down those donuts! Michael Phelps (Olympic swimming champion)eats a stack of pancakes every morning at a diner near where I live.

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-25 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
!! I can't imagine eating pancakes every day!

[identity profile] mrs-picasso.livejournal.com 2006-01-26 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
I can't either, but I'm told that Olympic atheletes burn energy with such intensity that they actually need to eat like that. (Lucky!)

I have some horror stories about my girly appointment and my last doctor... stabbed me in the cervix and made me bleed, he did. However, I've since then changed doctors and have a wonderful female doctor who is much, much gentler...

[identity profile] niecer1.livejournal.com 2006-01-20 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
OMGoodness! How does THAT happen?!
YIKES!
I hope you were ok..

[identity profile] 1grl-revolution.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Terrible, hey? He couldn't get the thingy (I know, real technical term! LOL) positioned properly and ended up jabbing me three times (it hurt!). Then I saw the swab and was like, "Is that blood?!" and the doctor was like, "Oh yea, but it's nothing serious..."

I was ok, I was just horrified that he'd been so rough!

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-24 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, I can totally empathize with your pain. I had bladder surgery, but it was done through a slit in my belly and another one in the vaginal wall, and in my post-op days, a nurse stuck a catheter INTO the suture in the vaginal wall... by accident!

[identity profile] 1grl-revolution.livejournal.com 2006-01-25 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man- I can't believe that happened to you! That is much, much worse than what happened to me. *is horrified*

Makes you wonder whether you're really better off going to a hospital sometimes, doesn't it?

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-25 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, maybe.

Nicole,

I have a question concerning one of the moodtheme icons. What is the picture of "naughty"? Least I can tell, it is a pic of the Yule Ball, but I don't understand the specifics.

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
- 'naughty' is indeed of the Yule Ball, and it is when Mme. Maxime sharply moves Hagrid's hand back to her waist after it had begun to travel... south. ;-)

If you're stumped on any others, please don't hesitate to ask!

Also, when I was looking at the moodtheme in your journal, I did notice some differences. For example, you've got this image for 'sick':

- 'hyper' ,

whereas I had this one:

If you've changed them because you like certain images better for one mood than another, that's fine. But I just wasn't sure, since I know that LJ will - unless you manually change each and every mood - insert the same image for any mood that falls under a specific category (ie. 'aggravated' falls under 'angry,' so without redirection, LJ will use the same image for both moods). If you need to, you can double-check all of the moods by comparing them to this link (which you won't need if you were rearranging them yourself). :-)

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Um, except that I just made my entire comment above based on what I noticed earlier today in your journal, and now 'sick/hyper' seem to be just fine. I did still see that 'sad' is showing for 'disappointed', but I can totally understand the substitution there (the robes shot really does more fit 'horrified' - which isn't an option - but I also was determined to get it in there).

Anyway. Sorry for the trouble. *blush*

NIcole,

Thanks for letting me know about that being a pic of Maxime and Hagrid (I just couldn't seem to notice it, but now, of course, I do!) :)

As for my moodtheme editor, I switched a couple of the icons (if that is not ok, please let me know), but I am not finished yet at all, so some of them show the 'wrong' icons.

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, it's totally fine with me!

[identity profile] donnazita.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Definitely not finished. Just noticed that the icon picture for "thirsty" is Harry and Myrtle...rollseyes..........

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Heehee. That would make the mood R-rated, no? ;-)

[identity profile] donnazita.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Nicole,

I've now finished putting in all the URLs of the moodtheme. It was a process and I appreciate all the work you did making them.

I made a few changes. It revolved basically around my desire to use the spider-on-Ron's-face as "stressed" rather than hyper. So the stressed became aggravated; the aggravated became annoyed; the hyper became stressed; the energetic became hyper.

:)

Looks good!

I hope the loneliness breaks soon hun :) Buts its always nice to get a call on the phone.

Don't feel bad about breakfast, I usually eat pasta and a soda for breakfast *blush*

[identity profile] navygreen.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, but the quiet time was so nice! With two young boys and a hubby who also makes his own share of noise, it's nice to get such a peaceful moment in this house (hubby was alseep, and both boys were at school).

Soda for breakfast? It's practically a staple, in my opinion. Gotta have my fizzies in the morning. ;-) Pasta, on the other hand? Yeah, that's a bit strange. (Of course, not everyone thinks cold pizza is great breakfast fare, but I certainly do.)

[identity profile] mandy-thewlis.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Well when I was in New Zealand, the only item served for breakfast was spagetti and grilled cheese sandwiches.

I got used to the culture and I continued to eat pasta for breakfast often when I came back to the states.

Esssh, my dad drives my mom insane when we're all sleeping and he has his tv loud!
