One-eyed.

My right eye is very sore. I woke up around 5am two mornings ago, and when I turned, I thought I felt a twinge of pain in the very uppermost part of my cheekbone (under the eye), but I went back to sleep. When I fully woke up later, my cheekbone area hurt more, and the inner corner of my eye was extremely tender - it felt like a massive bruise.

By the afternoon, the right side of my nose felt bruised as well, and so did my eyelid. It was becoming more sore and tender, and I took some ibuprofen. Nothing appeared to be swelling, but my glasses feel like they were *pinching* on the right side.

This morning, it was worse still. I took some more ibuprofen, and I couldn't even wipe the sleep from my eyes for the pain. It still didn't look any different, though. As the day has progressed, however, the skin in the corner, above, and below has turned the color of a day-old bruise (brownish purple), and now it is noticeably swollen. Still, nothing actually in my eye looks amiss, so I've got no idea what has caused this.

But yowzers, it really really hurts. :-(

This happens to me every once in awhile, except I've never had any swelling or bruising, just the feeling as if I had.

Sounds like it might be a blocked tear duct. If you're showing color change, you need to get to the doctor.
